I have been saddened to see some of my dearest Active Rain friends losing heart and either taking a sabbatical from or drastically cutting back on their AR participation. These are folks that have been MY rock for the past six months--encouraging me when I was a brand new Newbie, and following my exploits over the last six months as I tried to find my Active Rain Voice.
With their support I kept at it--posting when I didn't think I could possibly come up with one more blog idea, checking their blogs to see how the PROS did it, reading their encouraging comments. They kept me going when I otherwise might have given up on Active Rain. They helped me to understand the VALUE of Active Rain...not just in terms of the fabulous SEO that could be generated by AR participation, but also in the power of POSITIVITY!
Not having a lot of money right now for SEO optimization, I have been working hard at acheiving results through the tools that I have learned right here in the Rain.
I am happy to report that I am definitely seeing the fruits of my labors. I posted yesterday about getting my SECOND lead from AR. I received several "Atta-Girl" comments from my old buddies, but I also got quite a few congratulations from Newbies who thanked me for giving them hope. I was thrilled to be able to offer someone else the same kind of encouragement I got when I was starting out.
I am happy to report that today I received THREE calls from folks who found their way to me via the Internet! Two are out-of-towners (as most of my customers are) who are looking to buy a second-home here in the beautiful North Georgia mountains with the intention of eventually retiring up here. One is looking in the $250K-$350K range and the other in the $350K-$550K range! WOW!!!
The third call was from a sweet older man from Atlanta who was coming up to the mountains for the weekend and had Googled restaurants in Blue Ridge. Lo and behold, my blog about a new local restaurant came up. He actually called me thinking he was calling the restaurant! Now, he's not in the market for property right now, but it told me that my posts to Localism are sure paying off-I've got PLACEMENT!!!
All of this is to say that ACTIVE RAIN WORKS!!! To my old AR buddies I'd like to say THANK YOU for your support. Please don't lose the faith that you helped me recognize. To my new AR friends: I hope I can offer you even a fraction that others have offered me.
