The Las Vegas Valley with it's dry climate and plentiful sunshine is a haven and heaven for car collectors. It's not unusual to see classics and customs all over town, and some celebrity owned or once were. I found this out the first month we moved here. Wayne Newton pulled up next to us by our home, in one of his classic Bentleys. Later a Stutz with lighted chandeliers and candelabras at McDonald Highlands, and of course it used to be owned by Liberace. Magician 'Amazing Jonathan' in one of his muscle cars, out of his warehouse full that is designed to look like a drive in theater. Gary Primm, a namesake of Primm Valley Resorts and a builder of NYNY Casino has a private collection at his home, and the Bonnie and Clyde 'death car' on display between the Primm Valley Resort and the Outlet Mall, although it may be on tour at the moment.
Of course many visitors to Las Vegas have visited the $100 million Auto Collections at Imperial Palace. Carroll Shelby might be found tooling around Vegas in...what else, a Shelby. Carroll also has his factory next door to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and has factory tours. One amazing collection that you probably haven't heard of is from local media king Jim Rodgers. The owner of KVBC - TV 3 and many other Sunbelt communications stations has a fantastic collection near downtown. You won't be able to tour it in person without an invite, but I can let you know where you can take a peek at it online.
As you can see, there are quite a few large car collectors around Las Vegas. Ahh, but there are many, many more! Of course there are car cruises and shows almost year round, like the one from the Las Vegas Cadillac and LaSalle Club. Those are all amazing, but there's a car show in the valley that is HUGE! The annual Super Run Car Show in Henderson lets all these car owners strut their stuff, and last year there were over 1200 cars on display. Hot Rods to stock, antiques to classics, and everything in between. My dad was floored when he saw a car he once owned that was only in production for 2 years, and so many other that brought back memories.
This year's 10th anniversary show is September 25, 26, 27, & 28, and I'm mentioning it early for anyone that needs a heads up to attend. The kickoff on the first day will once again be at The District at Green Valley Ranch. The Show & Shine there on Thursday runs from noon - 8 PM, and live music from 'Jump, Jive, & Wail' from 4 - 8 PM.
Friday through Sunday the show returns to it's bigger home on Water Street in downtown Henderson, and takes up several blocks and the side streets. Besides the static displays, some will participate in burnout contests, engine roars, and slow drags. Of course there's more live entertainment with a number of bands performing at the Henderson Events Plaza and Amphitheater on Friday & Saturday. There will also be food and merchandise vendors for the event.
This is just another of the many of the entertainment options and events that happen here in the Las Vegas Valley. With so much to see and do, it really makes Las Vegas an incredible place to live. Oh, and by the way, the admission cost for the Super Run? Well if you make a real estate purchase from me within the next month, I'll throw in a family admission package.........just kidding, the event is FREE!
So on with the pictures. Now we do have over 400 pictures from last year's show, but I didn't include anywhere near that many. You should use the HD button in the bottom of the player to view them full screen, and look in the background at all the other cars, it's really amazing. When done click the HD button again to return. Of course you can watch this and my other Las Vegas picture slideshows, that includes some of the interesting communities found around Las Vegas, by Clicking Here.
Great idea on the photoshow. I'll have to convert our recent pictures from our local car show to something similar as it seems to bring the show to life.
I also love the self advertisement at the end. Looks like you spent a lot of time into it. You should join some of the car groups.

Last year's event was a lot of fun. There were a lot of double-takes on the 215 after the show ended as some of the cars drove home. I'm looking forward to it again next weekend.
Hi Roberta.... This show looks like a blast and you are becoming quite the accomplished slideshow creator! Great choice of music too! Have fun this year and be sure to tell Sparky I say hi! :)
Nathan: Thanks! Have to give my better half credit on finding the tech and doing graphics. I'll have to take a look at the car groups when I come up for air.
John: Yes it was, and yes there were a lot of looks. I have some people flying in for this weekend, just because of this show.
Steve: Yes it is a blast....and Thanks, I try! The music just seemed like a good fit. I'll give Sparky the Hi for you!
