Social Bookmarking...new Ideas

I was introduced to a new idea, I got the website url here at active rain.  It is called Social Bookmarking.

Here is the concept, in case you are unfamiliar with it:
I am sure the majority of you use your favorites list or bookmark websites.  That list can grow quickly, and can only be used on one computer.  Instead you can now use a social bookmarking website, like http://delicious.com/.

Here you can organize your "favorites" by tags.  I think of tags as categories.  When you add a website you can also add a note to jog your memory later.  The social part comes in because you can share your bookmarks with anyone you want.  What a great way to discover new websites and ideas!

All you have to do is go to delicious.com, and setup an account (it is FREE).  They just want basic info, name, and e-mail.  From there you download buttons for your web browser.  Once it is installed it will automatically add the bookmarks you have now in for you.  It was so easy.

Here is a quick 3 minute video that explains it more in detail:

There is another benifit to social bookmarking.  If you own a website say with listings and you use social bookmarking to mark each listing on your website the bots will come and you will increase your google rating.

Carol, social bookmarking is the best way to not only keep tab or your favorites but to increase your exposure.
