Atlanta Homes Sales Continue to Decline in July 2008.  Atlanta Homes Sales Continue to Decline - July Single Family Home Sales Atlanta July 2005-2008  In new figures just released to day from our primary Atlanta MLS it is clear that the number of single family homes in Atlanta (Detached) are still on the decline.  Compared to the peak in previous July's - July 2008 saw a 39% drop in detached single family homes.  The peak of Atlanta homes sales in July of 2005 was 6203 versus 3803 in July of 2008.  The numbers speak for themselves.  By creating this comparison chart, I have enabled the viewer to compare 'apples' to 'apples'!  It is always easier to step back and take the larger picture in, and grasp the trends that are taking place.

39% is getting pretty darn close to half. However you look at it, from whatever perspective, it is a big number. Chattanooga's numbers are in the range of a 20% drop in unit volume.

And Jim, these graphs do look nice. Good job with them.
