This is my second blog and I feel like I'm in a Star Trek episode. Is it just me or is it amazing where we are technologically?

I mean I can be in my car driving down the road with both hands on the wheel; speak a few words and in a moment be talking with a friend who is 800 miles away, in a different state, in his car driving down the road. Do you not think that is star trek-ish?

Here I am on this Saturday morning sitting at my desk at home. I push a button on my keyboard and the computer awakes. I click the internet icon and I'm connected to this amazing thing called the world wide web. Through this vehicle called the world wide web I can share my thoughts with thousands of people (maybe only 2 - Bob Haywood, great real estate agent from Owasso, Ok who invited me to join, and his neighbor John Tooley, wonderful Farmers Insurance Agent and member of AR).

This is done without wires physically connecting us all together. I don't know about you, but I am very thankful to be living in a time and culture that makes this possible. Now it's your turn - Do you think this is Star Trek - ish? Are you amazed at what we can do or do you take it all for granted? Let me know.

Congratulations on becoming a new member of ActiveRain. Being a new member myself going on my second week and only posting a few blogs so far I truly see the awsome advantage that this is; and only the beginning of a healthy and wealthy relationship of abundant professionals. Everyone has been so very kind.   Best of Luck to all of us,  Nance

Lorena - thanks for the welcome

Bob - You are the MAN! thanks so much.

Steve - I am spending as much time as I can reading and learning. I can see I'm going to have to put some time limiters on this.

Not sure about Star Trek (I am a Trekie!) but the technology is great!  In all aspects!  I've started seeing 'camera phones' where you can talk on them and see the other person.  I can remember being in Jr High, and this was a 'futuristic' thing, that is now becoming reality.  Not sure what to make of that!

If I can just get my flip phone to communicate with Scotty, Spock, Bones, or Kirk, I'll know that Star Trek has arrived, providing that Scotty can then beam me to the beach. LOL
