The Dog Days Of Summer...yep, they're here. I think I finally figured out why we call these days just what we do. It's almost too hot to step outside. I melt like the wicked witch of the west!

Of course, everybody else is too! The kitties are all curled up underneath the bushes trying to find relief from the sun.

The school lights are blinking again on our streets! Slow Down they're telling us.

Children and parents are shopping, planning, and getting excited for school and their return.

Most schools have had their "meet the teachers" night and the hair salon chairs are filled with little ones getting their bangs cut back from their eyes.

Moms are a tiny bit glad they're going back for it does establish a schedule and all children need that.

Fall is in the air...somewhere but not here!

We're in the dog days of summer here in Texas...I'm dreaming of wearing a sweater!

Good luck to all you moms that are preparing to send the children back to school! Life is good and the time marches on.

Later in the rain~Deb

Howdy Deb

my friend, what a very fine post on the Dog Day of Summer.

I really like the photo of the Grat Dane, I feel bad for the poor little kitties curled up underneath the bushes. Our Kittie never goes outdoors.

Deb - That's one of the most interesting pictures (top one of the Dane, I believe) I've seen in awhile.  LMAO!!!  So cute/peculiar...

Deb, Cutie doggie. It's been hot and humid here too, but we finally got some much needed rain today. It really poured but by afternoon the sun came out and we were able to hit the craft show and Corvette show in Mackinaw City and enjoy some ice cream.....all fun things to do in the summertime.

Jacqueline, you always make it sound like you're having a great time. I have a feeling you would be no matter where you were! I love that about you.

Jason, he is actually a Greyhound. Those long legs are just adorable aren't they? They can sure run. My cousin adopted one from a race track that had been abused and he's turned into the greatest dog ever! How can man abuse these lovely souls?

Dale, thanks. Don't feel sorry for the kitties...they're cooler than most!

Lynda, the seasons pass so quickly.

Anthony, thank you. It's just that time of year!
