REblogWorld

I've attended a lot of RE conferences in the last 5 years. I always go thru this odd rollercoaster of feelings before and after each event.  In the days before the event, I invariably have this thought...

..."I don't have time for this.  Why am I going again?"

During & immediately after each event, I swing completely over into...

..."OMG, I'm so glad I'm here!  The last 15 things I learned are really going to move my business forward in ways that I didn't think of before"

So, you'd think that after 5+ years of doing this little exercise that I'd just realize upfront that it's going to be awesome and just stay committed to the plan, etc.  But, like all Realtors, I'm super hyper-busy.  It's always very very difficult to break away from my daily routine and attend an event.  It's time & money with "unknown results".  I always have this fear that I'm going to waste time and (God forbid) miss a phone call!

Well not this time.  I'm totally pumped for REblogWorld in Vegas & I refuse to allow "fear of loss" to enter into the picture.

There's a BIG trend developing in our RE 2.0 world.

By being part of these events, I've noticed a very important new trend in the business.  We're quickly developing two sets of agents & brokers.  The "have's" (the information) and the "have nots".  In fact, it's really the "I get it's" and the "I don't get it's" (man, that is some really terrible grammar!)  The agents & brokers who see the power of blogging, video, social media & other 2.0 tools are slowly becoming seperated from "the rest of the world" in real estate.  This trend is continuing and excellerating.  At some point, 2.0 Realty (or is it 2.0 reality) will be all that's left!  Are you staying on top of it?

If you are in the camp that says "I'm still not sure this stuff is important", attendance at events like this will change your mind.  It will open your eyes to this whole world that you've been missing for too long.  I promise that you will get a TON out of the experience.

So, it's time to get ready for REblogWorld next month in Las Vegas.  If you have not attended a 2.0 real estate conference this year, this is the one you should jump in on.  REblogWorld is really unique because it's actually sort of an add-on conference or a sister-conference for BlogWorld.  Blog World is a much larger event (1500+ attendance last year) that is not just for real estate pros.  BlogWorld is bringing together internet marketers from all different businesses.  I'm pretty excited about it because of the potential to expand my "worldview" about blogging & other internet marketing by getting a glimpse of what's happening all over the world, in many different industries.

REblogWorld is set for Friday, September 19th in Las Vegas.  Your admission for REblogWorld includes admission for the weekend BlogWorld conference too.

Todd Carpenter & Jason Berman are doing a fantastic job with the planning for this event.  Can't wait to see it all come together!

I have to admit that Las Vegas would be tempting--had a great weekend real estate wise.  Let's hope it continues and maybe I'll be there.

Matt,

Way to stay ahead of the curve. It sounds excellent. Phoenix had the Arizona Blogging Conference a couple of months ago and it was a huge success. I'll keep an eye out for a post regarding this event in the near future.

Matt, while I'm sure this will be a great event, I just attended Inman last month, have our state conference next month, local conference in October.  I'm starting to feel a bit conferenced out!

Matt:

You're right, there are two distinct camps in this industry - those that get it, and those that don't. For those brokers that don't, I've posted a couple of wake up calls (http://crb-source.blogspot.com and http://activerain.com/blogs/bradhanks) to help.

The world of social media is forcing an evolution in real estate, and many of those in the latter camp may find themselves on the outside looking in soon.  Because blogging and social networking are not passing fads.  They're changing the way we do business.
