Down Payment Assistance .... tales of it's demise are greately exaggerated

With all of the news latey about the demise of down down payment assistance I am moved to quote Mark Twain's famous quote "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated".

There are numerous national, state, county and city down payment assistance programs still in existence and still helping out deserving families to purchase their first home.  Unfortunatly the negative press as of late has many family confused that they can not only qualify for a home but to purchase a home a little larger than they otherwise would have been able to do so by themselves.

As a potential first time home buyer, you know the sacrifices made to save sufficient money to make a down payment on a home. For some, it seems impossible to even begin to save enough cash without some form of down payment help, much less saving that money in the time necessary to take advantage of today's low mortgage rates.

Unfortunately, many individuals simply have no idea where to turn to get accurate and reliable down payment assistance information. So, whether or not this is the first time, or the fifth time you've purchased a home, there are many home buyer assistance resources available to help individuals and families with a down payment.

As the fate of private non-profit down payment assistance programs hangs in the balance it is important to note that there are many national, state, regional, county and city programs that are in existence and will remain in existence going forward.

As always if you have any questions about qualifying for down payment assistance programs feel free to contact our office.  In the meantime here are links to some national programs that are not going away and for more information on state, regional and local programs please feel free to check out our web site.
