I have found the Active Rain and Realtor community to be the most generous of all people I know. Many here do not know me, yet we share a common love for a generous woman who has given us much.
I have personally met Karen and Michael and am blessed to have had the opportunity. This couple was amazing together; with strength I admired. Last year I set up an account to help Karen and Michael through some tough times - it's hard to work and keep up with the ongoing bills when you are struggling with Chemo, loss of work, trips to the hospital, etc.
A couple of people have asked if the account is still open and unfortunately, they only allow beneficiary accounts a maximum 6-12 months. The account I originally opened has been closed. In place of that account, I have opened a PayPal account. Please post on your own site and let's help Michael, as a final gift to Karen.
I hate to pop in here at AR and ask for donations for Michael to assist in the ongoing expenses he will ultimately face. I know Karen maxed out her lifetime benefits for cancer treatment a long time ago.
Done...and thank you for doing this for them. Karen helped so many of us here in the Rain, I'm one who personally benefited from her knowledge and wisdom.
As for expenses, you/we have no idea what it's like to go through a life-threatening illness until it happens to you or anyone in your family. It impacts everything you do. God Bless them all!
Paula-I am so deeply sadden today..tears just roll down my face. Karen did so much for so many and she is one of the many who has kept me blogging. This is a wonderful thing you are doing and I am so very happy to contribute.
Paula, can you go back and add the reblog button? This is a great use of it and since you have not been posting on AR much, it might be fixed. Might also be good to put on agentgenius. I know they will have tons of expenses. If we can reblog it it will be easier to get the word out?
Many Thanks to all who have contributed. The ChipIn gauge doesn't seem to be reflecting real tme contributions, but is updated at least daily. Currently we have $685.00 and appreciate every $1.00.
Hi Laurie -
Thanks - Karen was really such a wonderful person who died much too young. She will be missed.
BTW - I miss you too and hope all is going well for you and your family :)
Thanks for the great advice. I will check back often. I really like the blog. I am new at blogging but I am beginning to learn quite a bit from reading blogs like the ones I find on Active Rain. If I can ever be of help just visit my blog or my website: http://yournowwhat.com

Linda - I did also. I knew nothing about blogging, SEO or internet strategy when I came to the rain. She left behind her success in many of our lives.
I know you know about the expenses such a disease. Thank you for contributing.

p.s. I added the widget on my blog!
