Some of our eagle-eyed members noticed a slight discrepancy in the top ranked spots over the weekend. I've asked Jon if I can hire you as beta-testers!

Sadly, this was no nefarious plot to allow me to takeover Lawrence with my pittance of points, nor was it a virulent worm or virus attacking the site. The real story begins many moons ago… (get in the mood; imagine gathering round a campfire with bated breath!)

After we launched re-blogging, we noticed that points were being improperly awarded. We took down re-blogging to fix points. Case closed, or so we thought. But like the best laid plans of mice and men, our fix went slightly awry. Points were being awarded for re-blogging, but point totals weren't being updated. (ed: do you ever suspect all computers are secretly run by gremlins trying to make your life difficult?) Last night, we took the site down briefly to clean house and fix scoring for all users. During that process, the top ranked spots were regenerated with zero-point users at the top. Oops! Everything should be running normally now, but if you notice any more point-related weirdness, let me know in the comments.

ActiveRain takes security very seriously. Should the site ever be compromised by an outside entity (heaven forbid!), we have procedures in place for analyzing threats, notifying members, and restoring content. We want you to have a good time in the rain, not the hail.

Hi Jorgen - On a similar strange note on my scoring page there were a bunch of people I invited to Active Rain with zero points awarded...about 7 or 8 or them - any connection?

Jorgen, I saw it yesterday in MIchigan, Today it is fixed. I was not getting points for featured posts. That is fixed now too. Thanks !

Jorgen, I have a question? I did a SearchMe post, where I shared about being able to stack my blogs, websites on the web. They have a feature where you can emial them, I thought it was a great idea to send out the information for our pre-listing appointments.

The problem, Nothing showed up about my outside AR blog, http://AnnArborUndressed.com. Nothing.

Question: Is the site indexed yet? Is it is Beta? What's up with this? I had all my other sites come up, even old blogs like on realtown and wp dot com that I don't post too at all, and matter of fact rarely did.

Well, I bombarded Bob with an email... lol. Of course he directed me here to see your post...and though I knew something went awry... knowing you folks would get to the bottom of it was always understood.

Thanks and we'll continue to sit around the campfire for explanations on this or that in AR.

I ran into the same problem as Bill. It was very strange to see when first logging on. Figured it had to be part of some grand scheme.

Jorgen 2 things I noticed...First, when you are searching blogs and hit the most active button, it doesn't matter whether you click day, week, etc, it seems to pull up all time list.

Also, there used to be a way of checking top 100 subscribed to bloggers on AR, that list has seemed to dissapear...it used to be right below my subscriptions a link...

Thanks, Jorgen and all, for staying on top of things!  When I see something I have learned to be a little patient (little) as I know you guys are always working on it.

Georgina you lost 100,000 points? if we had an extra 100k to give you we would.

Jeremy don't worry we're working on updating our most subscribed list for every state. When we're done we'll notify you.

Hopefully Active rain can help you out Georgina, that's a lot of points to lose.

Jorgen- nobody will come and say good job to you since you are more behind the scenes, but I wanted to let you know I really appreciate all the changes you have helped to take place on AR!  How you liking Washington?
