So here's something to make you go "hmmmmmm....."

What is the goal of marriage?

The question is not "What is the definition of marriage?" Or "What is marriage?".

Let's put those brains to work guys and gals! Get out of your ordinary routine and think about this for a second. I guarantee a fantastic and stimulating process as we travel the journey together to get the right answer.

Oh yes, there's only one right answer. Good luck.

Oh and if somebody gets it right I'll send you a little candy treat. Seriously. Unless you're a diabetic or something, that wouldn't be good. In that scenario I'll send you something else just as good or better!

And if it's agains the rules to send something to anyone then I won't send anything. I don't remember reading anything about that anywhere, but just in case.

Happy thinking amigos!

Carolina:  I remember from my Catholic grade school days that the goal of marriage was to form a life-long marriage... and have a lots and lots of kids.  That was way back when the life expectancy was very low... and the country needed to grow in population.  I think that to believe in that concept now is just foolish.  Just my two cents.

Carolina,

I think I knew the answer some 38 years ago... but I forgot. Sorry. Will keep watching, maybe someone would remind me.

Marriage? What is that? I always ask, "When is the divorce?"

Jim, you are soooo hilarious! That's what I was thinking when I first heard it, because of my early childhood experience with my lovely parents (I adore them both and wouldn't trade them for the world), they're divorced. Anywho, that was my answer too! But it's not the right answer amigo, sorry, no candy bar for you yet. He,he,he.

The goal of marriage is to achieve more spiritually, emotionally, and financially.

However, I could be wrong.

My goal is just to out live him...and drive his prized muscle car.

Oh Karen I totally agree dahling, can you imagine having that kind of goal for a marriage now? Dear God! I mean the lifelong thing is fine and dandy, but the lots and lots of kids part? Now that's too crazy for me.

Marriage is a commitment between a male and a female with God as their center.

Carolina

The goal of marriage interesting? It could be to stay married. So it sounds like there may be three choices 1. Stays married and stick it out 2. Get a divorce and bail out 3 If you stay married and stick out the only way out is death. Just kidding.

Good luck and success

1) To die first.

2) To not kill your spouse.

If you don't like either of those, I think that the answer you are looking for is for two people to come together and achieve oneness.

Carolina- After 18 years I can say the goal of marriage is to get through a once a week football game without being nagged at!

Lol - I just read the other comments.  The number of people that made reference to death is a little disturbing.

Great question but one right answer, oh no. :) I love Ruthman's response. Since Im not yet married but at that crossroad Im sure my answer is different from others. I see it as a built in support system, someone to stand behind you to be your cheerleader, someone to share in lifes accomplishments and lets downs with and then it's large financial merger. It's a business transaction ultimately.

Orlando & Lake Mary Real Estate Agen, hey amigo! Yeah, it's just one word: ONENESS. When you think about it though it isn't so far off. That one word encompasses so much and really says it all. You and I both have a lot to learn yet, so take this one word and really reflect on it because when the time comes it won't be just a business transaction. At least I hope it won't be that way for you amigo, because you deserve much better than that: Real Love is out there and you're worth it. As corny as it may sound, it's the truth amigo. God bless you!
