Burmese man working

photo taken by Robert Swetz   Mandalay - Burma, May 2008

The Active Rain Network consists of many different professionals with so many job descriptions.

This man in the photo above is a pan-handler playing music for money.

At Active Rain we have Real Estate (RE) Sales Agents, RE Brokers, RE appraisers, RE Home decorators, RE Home Inspectors, RE Etc, etc. There are Mortgage Brokers, Mortgage Sales Agents, Mortgage etc, etc. And there are many other different job classifications with Active Rain that I don't want to mention, because it is unnecessary.

I have heard from other professionals in the field of business to try and focus on one job, become very good at what you do. I will agree with this way of thinking accept the world is forever changing, and our minds change also from day to day.

For me I juggle many different jobs/ businesses and I am very well at all of them. I also have income coming in from all of these jobs/ businesses, and if one of them is not producing income I drop it. And may or may not form another job/ business.

My point is to not limit ourselves as to what we can or cannot do. Humans are capable of juggling many different tasks, jobs and careers at the same time. (For the men) believe it or not women are much better at juggling many different tasks, jobs, and careers at the same time, no offense to the men.

I am going to be very truthful about what I am about to say. I don't want to brag in any way, but I would like everyone at Active Rain to know a little bit more about me if you don't already know. What my day consists of, my dreams, businesses, goals, etc.

I also think it would be a great idea for members to post a little more about ourselves so other members have a better idea about what we specialize in, etc. I know we have profiles of ourselves, but not everyone looks at these. I really think that if members were to post a blog with a small description, there are going to be other members that will go (WOW), I didn't know they did that. Or possibly open more doors for business opportunities and transactions.

This is a short description of my work environment:

Real Estate Agent in the State of Nevada - Consulting Land Specialist for a consulting Firm, States include: Nevada, California, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Idaho - Land Investments in Minnesota, Nevada, California and Myanmar (Burma) - Professional Photographer with 30 years experience - Artist & writer - Journeyman for 30 years, Glass installation on High-rise Construction buildings (Foreman position) - Owner of several jewelry businesses in Las Vegas, Nevada, three shopping malls and one Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. And owner of a Match Making business.

Now that I have shared more about myself and the type of businesses I am involved with, we may have more in common and my be able to do business together. Business is not always about Sellers & Buyers of properties, please try not to limit yourselves to this way of thinking.

Please feel free to reply back with a description of your work environment.

Bo Although that comment was not directed at me...I think it's a wonderful idea...who doesn't like to talk about themselves and learn about others.  Count me in on the "Toot your own horn" group!

I have been in real estate since 1992, before that I worked for contractors, a home owners association office, a Del Monte Cannery and I taught dance.  Now I like fishing on Lake Tulloch.  It doesn't make me money, but it does put food on the table and it is a whole lot of fun.  I think I would make a great private investigator.  Politics and Law really interest me but I could never play their role.

Roxanne - Thank you so much for your comment and more info on yourself. You being a fisher person really interests me. I started fishing when I was 5 years old, being raised in Minnesota with over 10,000 lakes. I am a great fisher person. Maybe some time in the future we can cast a line or two.

Thanks again Roxanne, I know a little more about you.

I think the best job I've ever had was walking dogs. Florida is very big on dogs. It was an important responsiblity to the owners and I took it seriously. I was the best dog walker around! Whatever you do, if you care, do it well!

What type of fishing do you like the best?  I enjoy drift fishing for trout.  Trolling for trout or night fishing with lights (worms or minnows) still fishing for trout, crappie and sometimes you get a catfish.  A few nights ago I caught a 4.3 trout.  He was a fighter on a little ultralite crappie pole.

Only have caught a couple of catfish on occassion, not real big ones.  But one night about 2:00 in the morning a catfish about 40 lbs swam around our boat like a shark for about 20 minutes eating up the other fish that had come around because of the lights.  We call him Charlie.  Never have seen him again.  It was unbelievable.  The biggest I have caught is a 5 lb trout.

A rainbow.

That's what I thought! That's bigger than any trout I have ever caught. I have a home in northern Minnesota that I own up by the iron pits. The trout are very difficult to catch, but living there as long as I did, I mastered catching brook & rainbow.

The limit for the State of Minnesota is 5 per day. I would go down to the iron pits which is only blocks from my home and catch 5 trout within 30 minutes. People from the cities would come up on the weekends and get frustrated because they couldn't catch any. If I wasn't to busy reeling in my catch and throwing my line back out, I would give them a hand.

During the Summer when you could fish trout, I would eat trout every day if I wanted. I am also a gourmet cook, and I would fry the trout in a pan with some real butter, a dash of garlic salt &  pepper. I would only cook them for a very short time at a high temperature. I use to smoke some of my catches with a H20 smoker.

Talking about all this cooking has made me very hungry, I am starting to water at the mouth. I must stop now.

My husban & I eat our fair share of trout.  He fillets them and puts olive oil, seasoning and bar-b-q's them for a few minutes.  They are wonderful.  Now I am hungry too.
