Someone with the North Florida Real Estate Investment Group sent me this link. This is the reason I wanted to specialize with the older population, so individuals like this would not take advantage of the unsuspecting.

I can understand how it would happen. I trust people too, take them at face value, am probably too gullible. At least I know I'm honest. When and if I am interested in an investment property, I'll show comparables to the individual so they know what the market value of their home is. Sadly, there are those who will take advantage of anyone.

This story is of an immoral agent in Melbourne.

Not only the real estate agent, but also the appraiser. It's sad to hear about people who hurt others because of their greed.

Angie... Good Post! It makes me SICK to see agents that should be trusted are crooks. It's bad enough we have to deal with crooked agents on a daily basis. I remember when I started in this business years ago a broker told me "we have our in-house watch list" of certain agents. That's sad!

It is not only the older population that is victimized by these people, I see victims of all ages regularly and it makes me angry and breaks my heart every time I encounter it.
