So when does Katerina ever sleep
So When Does Katerina Ever Sleep?
This
is the most asked question that I get in emails and comments.
So
for the Question Of The Week; I will answer your question
about when do
I sleep.

I
believe that sleep is overrated. I will have plenty of
time to sleep
when I get to heaven, or maybe not. But life is so full of exciting
things to do that I do get by with less sleep than many people.
Alarm Clocks? I don't believe in using alarm clocks to wake up. The only time I use them is when I have a plane to catch. I wake up naturally, when my mind wakes me up.
I recently read a blog post on a natural health site where a man of the
age of 70 was super healthy and only slept 4 hours a night. He said
that he loved life so much that he did not want to miss out on life by
working during the day. He makes his money running an on line business
and works it from 10 p.m. to 2 or 3 a.m. Then he sleeps from 2 a.m. to
6 a.m.. He lives on the beach so he then gets up and takes a walk on
the beach with his wife. They sit down to have breakfast, talk and then
he works out with his weights and some Plates. He reads, goes out to
lunch with friends, socializes, enjoys activities and events, has
dinner, dances, enjoys music and more. After his wife goes to sleep he
works. He is planning on living many more years. I read his story and
said to myself, that is how I try to live my life too. I just
don't
want to miss life. I have been this way my whole life, did
not want to miss out on a thing.
My day begins at 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. when I get
up to do my gratitude
journal and prayer. grab my water and a banana.. My son is
a night owl
so he is still sleeping which then gives me the chance to crank myself
into high gear and get as much Real Estate business out of the way
before he wakes up. I check my email, return important calls, and do
our short sale interviews with new sellers. I answer the phones while
Nestor does his CMAs and calling the lenders. We answer our phones
because we treat each agent that calls us to show one of our listings
as an important sales call. Many times we have sold our listings this
way. We also know all the veteran agents here in town and we are
friends, so it gives me a chance to chit chat and catch up. I also do
all the negotiations on offers being faxed and emailed in and keep in
touch with our Virtual Assistant with weekly and daily action steps she
needs to be doing. Are there days when things don't work out as planned? Of course! Are there days when my schedule falls apart? Of course there are. And sometimes when we are negotiating intensely for a seller, that takes priority over all else in the moment.
My son wakes up about 11 or 12 .We make organic fruit smoothies for his
breakfast and soft boiled organic eggs. Then we do
home school. It
takes about 2 hours at his age to get all our school work done without
projects. In these 2 hours we get as much done or more than the public
school gets finished in 6 hours. Depending on the day of the week, he
will go to Piano classes, Swimming classes, Outdoor science classes,
gymnastics, chess, and PE classes. He is turning 6 years old this week.
One day a week he goes to an all day homeschool athletic association PE
class where they learn all kinds of sports during the year. He just
loves this day and it also gives me a day off.
I coach at 3 p.m. in the afternoon Monday through Fridays as well as a
few times in the evenings. I work out at Curves 3 times a week, trying
to get in another day for that. After Curves we make and eat dinner.
Then
I start blogging and commenting on Active Rain. I do
research,
read, return emails and social networking. We do some more school
activities such as reading aloud to our son, art projects and play
games like Uno or Chess.
Usually I go to sleep
between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.

On Sundays we go to church and I do not do any real estate on Sundays.
This is my day of rest. I will blog and comment about other things not
real estate related. I spend about an hour each Sunday on our
accounting and paying bills on line. Preparing the next week's
schedules, appointments and getting homeschool lessons organized is
another Sunday event.
Saturdays are for going to the beach, playing, doing project around the
house, writing our short sale book and going swimming in our pool. This
is also a day that I reserve for customizing expired listing packages
for the agents that use our program. It is also my Squidoo day, Triibes
day and researching the Internet day. Nestor is very romantic and
spontaneous so sometimes our days may take a totally different turn.
Flexibility is the key in schedules. Nothing I do except is cut in
concrete except for Church, gratitudes and prayer.
So
there you have it; this is how I get it all done. I could never do it
all alone without Nestor's help and support.

I just thought I was a baby because I am going on 4-5 hour sleep nights for two weeks now. I am one of those people who need a solid 8!
I wish I had a Nestor :) It's funny my husband's goal is for me to make enough money so he can quit his job and help me. I had him mow a lawn last week (emergent situation where landscaper quit and didn't tell anyone, vacant home, grass a foot high!) He came home and said "you know, when I said I would help you I just want you to know it would be with things like paperwork and phone, not mowing lawns!"
