Get Smart! Local Realtors Take Advantage of a Tough Market During the DNC

By

What do you do when Denver real estate transactions are becoming harder and harder to come by?  Local Denver Realtors have taken advantage of the hot rental market, fueled by the Democratic National Convention which has brought tens of thousands of delegates, lobbyists and more in need of housing for the week.  Local Realtors are thriving by helping these people find a place to lay their heads for a week of speeches, concerts, protests and parties.  I came across a broker this week who helped many a delegate find lodging and has not only benefitted financially but socially.  She made out with credentials to get in to parties and tickets to the hottest speeches in town.

Other brokers are taking a more low key approach by renting out their personal pads.  Condos and lofts in LoDo can net anywhere from $2500-$30,000 per week depending on the size and exact location of the building.  Not too shabby for a week's work-or for a quick house cleaning and move-out session, for that matter.

As they say, "work smarter, not harder."

And that's just what agents are doing these days.
