With fantastic clients, rewarding real estate careers, and a solid support team, my partners and I feel sincere gratitude and the desire to celebrate with, and give back to the people who make it all possible: Our Clients.

The 2008 annual Key Group client appreciation BBQ turned out to be another fun-filled and exciting event.

Held at Burfoot County Park in Olympia, we enlisted the talent of drummer George Jetson and the support of the folks at Kidz-in-Motion with their popular bouncing castle and tumbling bus.

On the menu were classic picnic standbys such as BBQ pulled pork (which Al slow cooked for 24 hours), hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, coleslaw, water melon, potato chips and chocolate cake (yumm).

Young and old had a blast with the games, such as the egg roll, three-legged race, water balloon toss, bobbing for apples and a pinata. With generous donations from many of our support professionals, we were able to give out several great prize packages, such as Seattle Mariner tickets, movie baskets, toys and gift certificates.

I love a good party but my favorite thing about our client party is to re-connect with the families I've helped find a home. It feels to me like a family reunion. I can't wait until next year.

Very nice!  Clients do become part of our family:)  The photos certainly show the happy faces of all who attended!

Looks like fun was had by all!  Congratulations!

My next party is our 4th Annual Gratitude Gathering in November.  It's a high end cocktail party with buffet which was relatively successful.  Most clients with kids didn't come due to day care, etc., so last year we hired a clown who made balloon animals and put on shows; had a coloring contest!  We also had a professional photographer take pictures of many families - which we were able to give as gifts for the holidays.  We had 150 more people in attendance than the year before!  www.thankstoyou.info this is the party website.

It's a good life!

We bought our home 7 years ago.  The agent that sold our home had an annual client party (via the brokerage).  The wife I enjoyed it and looked forward to it every year.  One year our invitation was late coming, I called her to see what was up.  Luckily the party had been held off for a week and the invites were in the mail.

It was that party that actually launched me into Real Estate and as the agent also told me, dried up a great referral base.  We always sent our friends and family to her for RE needs.  I talked to our agent one night and she gave me all the info needed to get me started.  She recommended a couple offices that would better suit a new agent as her office would likely not be a fit.  I took her advise, got my licesnse, and here I am.

She ended up transferring out of state and the office has since discontinued the party, but they were fun parties.

Gita, thanks for stopping by my blog to check out our party.

Chad, Thanks for sharing this great story. People tend to connect much deeper on a social level, than just on a business level, and one never knows where these connections will lead. In your case it lead to a career in real estate.

I've never done that before. How do you set it up? What if your clients are all different from each other? How do you handle that?

Elizabeth,

We reserve the park, hire the musician and the bouncing castle and my partners and I split the responsibilities of shopping and organizing. We send out emails asking our clients to reserve the date about a month in advance and the invitations get mailed out 2 weeks prior to the event.

Our clients are different from each other. One of my partners holds the SRES designations and has many seniors as clients. The rest of us have a mix of families with young kids, teenagers and also singles.

We make sure that the music is enjoyable for everybody and have games for young and old. Those who can not participate in the games generally have a good time watching.

The park where we hold our event has miles of trails and has beach access. There is a large playground and with good food, cold drinks (and beer) and sunshine, how can you not have an enjoyable time?

If you're ever up in the Puget Sound region the third week in August, come join our party. You have a standing invitation.

Hi Sandy,  I have started with a new team and one of my recommendations to them will be to have a client party.  Congrats on such a great turn out for your party and I never thought of the idea to get donations for prizes.

That looks like fun Sandy. Is the musicians name really George Jetson?
