Before I let you in on the little secret I want you to ask yourself a few questions.  Do you have a clear vision of how you want your life to be?  Are you satisfied with how successful your business is?  Are you happy with the way you look and feel?  Do you want more money, desire a new car, or long to stroll through the streets of Italy?

I know I do, and that is why I have been changing the way I think and do things.  If you are like so many others who desire things in life but they never come to fruition, than you need to stop what you are doing and start to think about what it is that you truly desire and want out of life. Once you have a clear vision of what your goals are you can begin to see results right away if you follow these simple steps.

First, write down everything you hope for or want on a piece of paper.

I am not just talking about what you want out of your business, but what you would like out of life, for yourself, your family, etc.  Not until you really stop and think about what you desire, can you truly have your dreams turn into reality and bring success into your life.

Now that your list is made you have started the ball rolling.  Just by putting your dreams and desires into concrete form you have put the vibrations out there into the universe and your plan is already starting to make these dreams a reality.  Now you can't just write something down and walk away thinking that you are done.  No, there is some work that must go along with it.

Inorder to put your words into action I want you to create a Vision Board.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Vision Boards, they are most often made on a poster board and consist of pictures which represent your goals, dreams and aspirations in life.  Vision Boards are a powerful visual tool that will motivate and inspire you to reach your desired goals.  There are several ways in which you can make a Vision Board.  Traditionally people cut out pictures of what they desired, from magazines, newspapers and books and pasted them onto a poster board.  But today there are other creative ways to make your Vision Board.  There are companies out there that will create one online for you.  Below are just a few of the sites that provide such a service.  I have not used any of them, nor do I endorse them.  I am just providing you examples of a few sites that came up in my Google search.  If you choose to make your Vision Board online, you should research each company and find out which one best fits your needs.

http://www.visionboardsite.com/    http://www.mymasterboard.com/   http://www.visualizeyourgoals.com/

http://www.spiritual-law-of-attraction-prosperity-resources.com/law-of-attraction-vision-board.html

Or you can do a spin off of the traditional poster board and paste pictures onto a large sea shell, picture frame, chicken wire screen, etc.  You can be as creative as you like?  Just make sure that you don't get caught up in the creative part and never get your board made because you can't stop looking for just the right piece to make it on.  That's what I did until I came to my senses and reminded myself that my true goal was to get my wishes and desires onto paper as soon as possible so that I could get results faster!

vbHere is an example of my Vision Board:

I cut out pictures of places I want to travel to, people who've inspired me & I aspire to be liike, things I want to do, i.e., swim w/ the dolphins,  quotes to inspire me & keep me on track, pictures to remind me to live healthier & happier, and I even left a few blank spaces so that I can continue to add to it.

Place your Vision Board in a prominent area.

You will want to prominently display your board in an area that you will see it often.  I have mine in my office.  I also took a picture of it and made it my background wallpaper on my laptop and cell phone.  This way I can take time to look at it if I'm in the office or out in the field.  You may want to share it with others so that they are familiar with your goals and can motivate you along the way.  My business partner and I both have made Vision Boards and we talk about it often so that we keep each other on track.

Don't just look at it....feel it!

Throughout the day take time to look at the pictures on your Vision Board and really feel how it would feel if you were to travel to the places you have listed.  What would you be doing?  What would you be seeing? If you want to get in shape and start living a healthier life think about how you would feel and look if you were 15 lbs lighter?  Think about how much more confidence and energy you would have.  Envision how busy you would be and how much money you would make if your business took off and you became very successful.  Think about what you would do with it.  Think about how you would grow professionally and what it would feel like to have reached each of your goals.

I'm sure most of you have been hearing a lot of talk lately about positive affirmations, the power of positive thinking and the Law of Attraction.  What you think about and desire will come your way, whether it is positive or negative.   You really need to start being more aware of the negative things you say about yourself.  Like "I can't" or "I'm so dumb"  I was recently walking down the book aisle of Costco when I saw this beautiful book entitled"You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hay.  She is all about positive thinking and how your thoughts create your life.  Click here to see a short clip from "You Can Heal Your Life."

So now that I let you in on every successful person's secret tool just remember that YOU are the key to your success!  You can be as successful as you want, as long as you have a clear vision of what you desire.  And as you work daily to reach your goals you will be surprised at quickly you can achieve success!

I would love to see pictures of your Vision Boards, as well as hear about all of your success stories.  Your stories of success will encourage others to achieve their own success!

It is so nice to wake up and read this positive post! Very nice. I have a small group of friends who meet each month and do something similar to this. We have notebooks we keep and put our thoughts and goals for the month. We call it our "clip-n-snip" night. It works, is fun , and a great excuse to get out of the house with great friends.

Have a terrific weekend!

Hi Reece - great post!  A positive attitude is the only way to feel good in life!  I have discovered that visualization is the absolute key to achieving my goals. Once I see it clearly in my mind and feel and experience the results ... and show gratitude ... results can come to me in mere minutes, hours, or a few days.

I have a few things on a bulletin board in my office that hep keep me grounded.  Pictures of my family, firends, postcards with great pictures to visit and a few sayings that I try to remember when I'm down in the dumps.  Sometimes I just sit back in my chair and stare at the board and realize that keeping things in perspective is the most important thing I need to do everyday!

This is a great idea to keep yourself focused on your goals and remind yourself of the many people who inspire you and places you want to explore.  I like to surround myself with people who inspire me to make a difference and I have pictures around my home that remind me of what is truly important.  My philosphy is "Embrace Life and all it's experiences."  Thanks for the great ideas - I am bookmarking your post and will explore a bit later.

Reece- I'll be honest...I used to snicker about things like this. Until I met someone who practices visualization on a regular basis. At first, I just thought she was the luckiest person I had ever met. Everything she does in her business produces results, even though I have done the same things and got nothing. Every time there is a drawing or a gift being given away, she wins it. So, let's just say I'm not snickering any more, and I think your vision board is a great place for me to start! Thanks!

Reece,  Yes I have a visual board and the affirmative thoughts & sayings are good and watching "The Secret" really gets you going in the right direction.  I need to read my visual board more often as I forget to do it.  I know it works because years ago I had some "visual papers" and goals instead of a board and I had a picture of a blue jaguar that I thought was pretty sharp and at another time I wrote down a goal that we would probably move in 2003.  Several years later I was driving a blue jaguar (and totally surprised when I found the visual papers in my cedar chest) and we also moved to a Golf Course View in May 2003 - - - - so it works!!

What a great time for me to see your Blog.  I am on vacation(celebrating my 35th wedding anniversary) in the Bahamas and this is usually the time I take to renew my commitments to my life plan.  I love the vision boards on line as I am a techie nut! I definitely will incorporate this into my plan.

I have found that I am a very positive person and love to bring smiles and positive attitudes to all the folks whose lives I touch daily.  I will share this idea and encourage them to look for pleasures and get over their pain.  I too love to read great positive books as it is much easier to be up then to  deal with negative and be down.

Thanks for sharing and I hope someday we meet.  I love to have people like you in my life!

Reece, Thank you so much for the reminder.  I am a very visual person, so a vision board would be very motivating to me.  Being new to real estate sometimes is very overwhelming to me and I just wonder when is the first closing going to come.  I know it is going to come and a the vision board technic will remind me why I just need to work and have patience.  I know I am going to be very successful in Real Estate and I refuse to be part of the statistics of agents leaving in less than a year.  I sincerely thank you for this reminder. I truly appreciate you sharing this.  Thanks

This is a great post.  I can't even tell you how powerful this is.  I first heard of the Law Of Attraction from my 17-year old sister who read the secret.  She was SOOO convinced that this was this truly worked that it made me a bit intrigued.

However, I still 'blew her off' as a just an immature teenager for the next few months.  Then, I finally bought the CDs (with the gift card my sister gave me last Christmas).  I listened to the CDs and was slightly skeptical but open enough to try it.  I made a goal for myself that I thought was TOTALLY NOT reachable;  I wanted to double our savings account balance in a span of two months.  I really didn't think it was possible.  But, as The Secret suggested, I gave it a deadline.  I even wrote the $$ and deadline date on a Post It and kept it around my laptop the last couple of months as a reminder.

I CAN NOT EXPLAIN TO YOU HOW FREAKY it is that I reached the goal EXACTLY on the 'deadline' I set for myself according to The Secret.  Tomorrow is the deadline and I am about to deposit a big, fat check into my bank account as a result of some very suprising real estate business that I was blessed with.

I was mostly skeptical because, as a Christian, I believe God is behind everything.  And I still think He is!  But I think He IS connected to the universe and that The Secret is actually HIS message to us.  Interestingly, after reading The Secret, certain biblical messages made more sense to me!  (things that Christ said)

Anyway, I don't want to turn this into a cathecism class.  I just wanted to say that The Law of Attraction is so powerful it is truly amazing....and genuine!

I watched "the secret" and made some vision boards.  I have noticed a huge improvement in my attitude mostly.  Thinking positive and believing in yourself, combined with hard work, will really get you pretty far.  In the areas where I feel I am not moving forward, I sit down and make a list of the things I want to believe about a certain topic versus the things I actually believe.  Then I try to get rid of the negative beliefs.

I am truly a different person since I started doing this.

Hi Reece, I first made a 'goal poster' in in a 1983 Women in Management class the last semester of College. I dated it 10 years in the future, put magazine photos of a husband, son, daughter, cat, dog, beautiful house, grand piano, active lifestyle, sporty red car, and a successful career.

I was amazed when I pulled that poster out 10 years later to find the only thing that didn't happen was a son and a dog! Time to do another one...and thanks for the reminder!

Reece,

Well, first of all, congratulations on your 'featured post' (was that part of your 'intention' when writing this?!).

I am a firm believer in the power of intention and manifesting your desires  Even though I have known about Vision Boards for years now, I never really did much more than think about what a good idea it was. I thought, however, that it took too much effort to find the board material and then search through publications for pictures, etc.   I had no idea that there were websites where you could actually make your vision board easily!  Thank you so much for this information!  I'm making it a priority to choose one of the websites and 'create away' over this holiday weekend!

I'm sitting here right now looking at my BABY picture in the center of my vision board!  My idea is to create my board with the theme "The woman I was meant to be" ... and build on that.  Right before I opened this, I was going through magazines to add to my board.  I TRULY believe when we think of something often, the universe brings us more resources.

Thanks for the opportunity to offer my opinion

I think the process of creating my logo, coding my website (HTML and CSS), and creating ads on Realtor.com to drive prospects to my website has really, in effect, acted like creating a vision board.  I am much clearer now with my vision.

I have to say that I was only able to do the above, however, after I went through a sessions with a Fearless Living coach.  That program really helped me to understand what my blocks and obstacles were in order to be able to set my goals and have a clear vision of what I wanted in my life and in my business.

fabulous post...

having seen firsthand the power of vision boards - from the initial creative thought process in clarifying one's goals to the building of the board to the realized successes, I can say, it's priceless !

I've used vision boards professionally and personally for years.  At various times have taken it a step further in using different base forms  (tray, lamp base, wooden box), creating a useable, functional item to live with.

Here's to living with positive action, and clarity.

Reece, Great great great!  I have photos at my office that keep me motivated!  I have photos of my neice and nephew and my grandparents.  My grandparents (although my grandfather recently passed) remind me that I'm here to make them proud and I know they would want me to do whatever is best for me.  The photos of my neice and nephew give me incentive to make sure I am doing the right things so I can set a good example for them!  It's so inspiring!  It also reminds me that if I want to see them, I have to work hard to put some money in the bank to afford it!  There is no better way to reach your goals that have them written down and visible so you can remind yourself every day!!  Thanks for sharing.  Hopefully more people will do this as well!

Reece,

Thanks for the reminder and the nudge I've been needing! I read The Secret, and they talk about Vision Boards there as well.

My 13 year old daughter has started expressing herself through collaging and loves it! It has become a way for her to see her 'vision' of herself on paper without having to verbalize it to anyone - the art speaks for itself.

I love your "Don't let FEAR hold you back" - that is a common denominator for many people to not move to action - F -alse, E - xpectations, A - appearing, R- real...

Thanks for sharing Reece!

Hi, I guess a lot of people are doing this - I need to get with the program!!

I do think that writing (or visualizing) goals is very powerful.  I've been reading a lot of great books lately on simialar subjects and would highly recommend:

"Think and Grow Rich"  Napolean Hill

"Rich Dad, Poor Dad"  Robert T. Kiyosaki

"The Slight Edge"  Jeff Olson

Lifelong learning is the key to an abundant life!!

What a fantastic idea!! I have written down my goals many times before, then I file the paper away and rarely go back to it. Placing it in a place where I can continually look at it and be reminded of why I am doing this makes so much sense. A visual reminder is connects with one on a whole different level.

Great post.  I am reminded however that sometimes life throws its curve balls and our goals and dreams can change over time.  What my aspirations were three years ago, have now changed into something different.  Not a bad thing, but just that its also important to stay fluid with life, still reach for the stars, and be willing to ride a shooting star somewhere else if need be!

So true...having clearly defined goals and visions of what you want out of life helps you to follow through with the things needed to get there.  I found that when i put a vision board up, things just started happening for me!

Thanks for the inspiration to do a board and for the links to help out!

I do the same thing...but I post the photos on my fridge door so I see them every morning. I like your method better though; more complete vision.

I'll try and post mine here in your blog when I get it done!

BTW, it will be going on the wall in my office so when I look up from the computer or writing at the desk it will be there for inspiration!

Great post. Believe this really works, because you immerse yourself in it and keep it in the forefront of our minds. Many times we do not realize the real power of our thoughts and imagination- both negative and positive. Thanks for this great post.

Hi Reece,

Isn't it amazing how many of us are so in tune with the Law of Intention?!

I just wanted to let you know that I went online and purchased the Orange Peel Vision Board Orange Peel Law of Attraction Vision Board and not only was it easy to create, but I personally found it to be most effective for me.

Thank you so much for telling us about this!

I have a vision board, but I never thought to take a picture of it and place it on my laptop or phone! Great Idea!

Great post Reece, on ways to manifest your dreams. Another awesome tool I have found to help with that is Mind Movies. It's the same pinciple as a Vision Board, but animated and set to insirational music. You are able to play it over and over again, morning and night. Here is a link to some pre-made ones you can get for free and I know the software is availible to make your own. http://www.mindmovies.com/DownloadPreMades.html  And here is the short movie clip explaining the idea http://www.mindmovies.com

Thank you for the inspirational and motivational post. One thing that I have learned from reading motivational "life" books or articles, is that you cannot STOP reading them. It should be by your bedside for when you retire at night, or when you can't sleep. Staying positive can be very trying at times in our world today, so everyone and anyone can always use a pick-me-up!

thanks again, Reece. I'm off to create a vision board.

Setting goals is extremely important, and many people are visualists.   So a vision board seems a good way to keep those goals in frontof us.  When I took the Floyd Wickman Starmakers course one of our first assignments was to create something similar.  We were to create an 8 X 10 page with pictures of our goals for that year.  We laminated it and were to carry it with us everywhere attached to our key chains.  I still have mine.

Sometimes I share with my clients the fact that I have a vision board - and the ones that don't look at me crosseyed are the one's I find I most enjoy working with.  Go figure and thanks for spreading the love.

Great post, Reece. I have been applying these principles for over 2 years and it has been simply amazing. I first started reading a book "The Game of Life and How to Play it" by Florence Scovel Shinn. She's old school but right on. And just continued to read all I could on the topic. The Secret, Ask and It is Given, by Ester and Jerry Hicks. Powerful stuff.
