My goal of this blog is simple. I want to provide some ideas that are simple and may help you build your business at the same time help others build theres.

Tonight I attended a traveling wine party at a friend of mines house. My frined had 7 different business people from different fields at her home. We then brought a mutual client in to do a wine tasting. The mutual client sells wine through an organization as a part time job. It was a great time for all to build stronger relationships and put plans in place.

An attorney friend of mine twice a mont has a simple coffee hour hat his office wher he invites 5 to 10 diffenent business people for coffee. A few months ago I met a a person that worked at a firm that did employee leasing. We followed up after the coffee and did a one to one. I got to know the person better and his business. I now have a meeting set up for him with an owner of a local company that is a perfect prospect for him. In turn he has asked me how he can help me I have asked him to introduce me to people that are renting. The reason is simple I would like to educate those people.

I am asking all my clients if they have an excellent tax person as well as financial person if the answer they give me is no then I try to introduce them to one of my excellent contacts in those fields.

I have made a conscious decision that every time I receive excellent customer service that I am going to go out of my way to find the manager of the store and highlight to them the excellent service I have recieved from there employee and then I will hand them my card and let them know that they can reach me if they have any questions on my experience.

I think we all must take extra steps. Read my blogs you will see a common theme. It is a simple one . 100% customer satisfaction and an effort to add value to all.

Hello Ed,

I am glad that you posted about this, because it reminded me of an idea that I had several months ago and didn't end up trying. I would really like to start a networking group. One like BNI, but one that is free. I feel that businesses don't need to pay to stay accountable. I think that if the business really wants to be successful they will network with other local businesses. Should I get smaller businesses, another idea is to have just women? I teach a home buying class geared towards Single women, either single, divorced or widowed. It has been a huge part of my business for the past 5 years. How do I start one and find businesses(individuals) that I would personally refer someone to. I feel that anyone I would refer is a reflection of me.
