I don't "see dead people" but I do collect ghost stories, and a LOT of agents seem to have had experiences worth reading about! Do you have one to share? If so, I'd love to showcase it (and you) on my Haunted Real Estate blog!

Yes, really. After all, it's almost Halloween!!

Want to be included? Email me and put something about Haunted Real Estate in the subject line (or phone me) and we'll get started. Meanwhile, check out the blog, especially the category for Agent Stories.

This concept sounds pretty cool!  I have definitely felt the hee-bee-geebies in a few of my listings.  Also, when taking pictures for listings I usually take between 80-100 and then review them and pick the best to use to advertize.  Many times I see "orbs" in many of the photographs and remember what I felt when I was taking the pictures in that particular spot that "something was there with me."

In Hawaii we do not have to disclose ghosts.  It is a specific exclusion in our real estate law.  I still recommend my clients disclose them, because it is a material fact, that may effect someone's decision to buy.

There is a famous real estate ghost story in Hawaii.  There is a corner home on Harding Ave. that is considered the most haunted house in the state.  It was part of the ghost tours, etc.  The owners tried to sell the home a couple of years back and the reputation made it impossible.

Their attorney, who also teaches GRI classes, researched the history.  They found out that the home was the site of a radio show Halloween prank many years ago.  The haunted part was a complete hoax.  Over the years the story took on a life of it's own.  To this day, I know people who refuse to even drive down the street.

Ray - thanks - it's fun and amazing what some agents have experienced.

Michael - that's been my experience at times, too (not just in listings). I'll feel like there's something there, and then something shows up in the pics.

Randy - thanks for both your comments. Another Realtor in Hawaii told me, years ago, that folks there did have to disclose ghosts. Was there a change in the law, or did I get bad info? You said it's specifically excluded. Is that on a form or ? Now I am REALLY intrigued since I heard the opposite before!

Mary, As you know I found that incredible site many years ago, never thinking I would meet the person who owned it!  I was glued to it for hours on end because I have heard and experienced some things in homes where the owners told me they had spirits.  Thankfully I didn't run (though at times I wanted to :) and very thankfully the cleansings helped significantly!  Did you think to contact Janene again?  I loved the interview last year!
