For years I've heard from home inspectors that fogged thermal pane windows can be repaired. It is just that nobody could give me details from personal experience.
Well, this company sounds like they have a solution for most fogged window problems.
defogitnow.com has a system that treats the window while it is still in the home. This is not a miracle cure, and it can take up to 12 weeks depending on the season, but it also costs 1/3 to 1/2 what a window replacement costs.
(We just had a purchase this year where there was a large window that was fogged. We negotiated to have the seller pay it, but it was just under one thousand dollars.)
I like the company's website. They spell out the different stages of deterioration and they provide a set of before and after pictures. They also show pictures of windows that are too badly damaged to repair.
Please post a comment if you have worked with these folks.

I had always heard that multi-pane windows could not be repaired, but that's always come from window installers who might have a slight conflict of interest because they would make more money on a replacement window rather than a repaired window.
