We are Dream Makers

To be a real estate professional you have to love people, really love people. Everyone has dreams, it may be owning their first home, finally being able to buy that lakefront or golf front home, reaching the long awaited retirement and finally being able to purchase their retirement home, or selling their home so they can start a new chapter in their lives. Everyone has a dream and it is up to us, to help them make those dreams come true.

We become the friend, the confidant. We do a lot of counseling and hand-holding along the way. Often we hear the client, whom has doubts that ALL is possible, start to voice these doubts and maybe think about giving up. It is up to us to let them know giving up is not an option!

As real estate professionals this sometimes requires us to "think outside the box". Find a way, you must look long and hard and find what is going to get them to their dream.

We must keep them focused and doing all the things that must be done step by step. Motivation is a key factor here. Often I say, "This is going to happen, follow me step by step, we are going to get there!"

You have to truly love your clients and if you do, you will do anything and everything to help them reach their dream.

Isn't real estate a wonderful profession? We are dream makers!

Great post and right on target. I must admit though, as primarily a listing agent I feel more like a dream enabler than a dream maker... I will ask my buyer's representative how he feels and maybe he will side with you on the Dream Maker moniker! :)
