I wanted to make a few comments about the book that I am still in the process of studying. It is, of course, the MREA.
There are of course a few things that are unrelated to my business, like leads I need, but listings I don't do, and leverage is something that will naturally come when I close more loans. However, I don't want to make this blog sound like I would not recommend that anyone involved in our industry in any capacity. Anyone that is involved in our industry in any capacity will be able to gleen some good stuff from this wonderful book by Gary Keller and Friends.
OK, now for the purpose of the blog. He mentions that we all need to dream big and he uses his way that he answered the phone when he had only two offices in the state of Texas as an example of dreaming big. He used to answer the phone as "the national office" for his company. At the time, he only had two offices, but he knew that if he wanted to eventually get there, he needed to get it into his head that it was possible. By stating it over and over to all of his clients on the phone, it would be impossible for him to forget where he was dreaming of getting to.
What does this mean to us? We are told to target our market in the beginning of our real estate career. Who is there to tell us what to do when we get enough business in our pipeline, what step to take next? Gary is telling us to take the next step in our mind before we have enough in our pipeline, so the next step is seamless. As I get into more of the models, I will try and gleen some of the good stuff from the models to present in future blogs. We have Mastermind sessions at our local Keller Williams office that I believe I can invite anyone to attend. If you are interested, just drop me a line.
