The Builder and the REALTOR - 03/25/2007 10:01 AM
The Builder and the REALTOR; builder and the REALTOR.  Maybe it's because I wear both hats in this
As long as I've been in the housing industry I can't seem to be able to get my head around the adversarial relationship that seems to exist between the home builder and the REALTOR.  Maybe it's because I wear both hats in this industry but wouldn't we all do better if ...

Wow, I didn't expect that, there were only two builder blog posts worth mentioning in the top 50 members!  That's crazy, where are all the builders.  Rumor has it that 2006 wasn't a great year, are they all waiting on someone else to start the fire?  Done Ranting for now.

Builder Open Houses - 03/29/2007 08:04 PM
Builder Open Houses; builder representative available to man it.  This opens up possiblilities for us general realtors
A great way to generate leads is to volunteer to sit open house at builders' models.  Locally the larger builders have a shortage of salespeople.  We know of builder representatives that are responsible for 3 subdivisions.  That is 3 models with only 1 builder representative available to man it.  This opens ...

Everyone does NOT deserve to own a home! - 03/29/2007 04:17 PM
Everyone does NOT deserve to own a home!; builders and Realtors have pushed loan officers (greedy loan officers) into forcing loans through that
When did it happen?  When did America forsake capitalism and personal responsibility for politically correct Socialism?  When did we forget that America is not about a guaranteed good life... it is about the chance, the opportunity to pursue your dreams.  Nothing is guaranteed to you... or at least shouldn't be except the freedom ...

Missing - Active Rain Builders - 03/24/2007 05:00 PM
Missing - Active Rain Builders; Builder-Contractor Score: 981 Arlington Heights, IL HVAC/Electrical/Ductwork/Ventilation Realtors & Property Management Specialists #25 Robert
I've sure been blessed to enjoy the fruits of wisdom and debate here on the AR community.  But, I'm a bit frustrated at the very small turnout of other home builders.  I would have to guess that there are perhaps 20,000 new home salespeople in just the United States.  That's a ...

 Builder Demands - 03/29/2007 09:49 PM
One of my loan officers had a purchase for a new home being built.  I had approved the loan with minimal conditions.  Most conditions were required from the builder, as the home was not complete.  The builder/sales department went to the borrower and demanded that they go through their lender that ...  Photo Blog: Staging Speaks for Itself - 03/26/2007 01:37 PM
Wester - Details Staging and Redesign, Kimberly I just don't think this requires a lot of words...other than it's a builder's model. And this is only part of it...

I have mixed feelings, almost didn't post this tonite, but I guess it needs to be said.

It's high time that new home salespeople and home builders nationwide get a little more active somewhere, including Active Rain!

Thanks Bob.  Home builder and new home salespeople are way behind the curve when it comes to using technology for marketing.  This is definitely a place where real estate professionals are ahead, and if I was a real estate professional I would use this to gain tons of builder business.

The distinct trouble will be that most legitimate builders are not behind a computer as much as a realtors or other real estate professionals. We'll see though.

Imants, I think that there are thousands of new home salespeople that are behind computers.  But ... they are just sitting in models waiting for someone to walk in.  Well, the market got pretty slow in 2006 in a lot of markets, time for those new home salespeople to do exactly what the real estate professionals have done.

Create activity.

Good point. I suppose even if they are not behind the PC during the day, 20 minutes a day, at home is not so bad in exchange for thousands of contacts.
