So is there a secret to selling Real Estate using photos and video?  I ran across Bob Sokoler's post today called "What's Helping Us To Sell Homes? Video!"  It's nice to see those results are finally starting to come in.  Thanks Bob.

What is the benefit of ActiveRain Video using Mixpo, and why would anyone ever consider paying for something they think they can get elsewhere for FREE?  The truth is, YOU CAN'T!  Let's address this often asked question. The following videos help explain why AR Video and Mixpo are different than other sites.

Glenn Pingual - VP of Marketing at Mixpo, shares his points of view regarding Real Estate, Video, and the overall WEB 2.0 movement in the video arena.

Chris Calabro shares some of the AR/Mixpo features and benefits of the platform, and also how Mixpo is different than any other video editing and hosting sytem online.

This is what Bob Sokoler had to say about why Pictures and Video
help him sell homes...

Since Mixpo is now one of our ActiveRain Vendors, this means you will get FULL support from US, your ActiveRain Team.  We're here to help make sure you understand how it works and how to use it.  Since Video is now the hottest thing on the web, I'm proud and very excited that we can offer this.

If the price is an issue, consider this: If your video generated you just three leads, and one of those leads converted to a transaction or business opportunity, then wouldn't the 29.00 cost be defrayed drastically?  One transaction a year would easily cover many years of subscribing to AR Video.  Remember that the price includes the service, the exclusive tools, the stock library, the secured editing platform, our cost to provide it, and oh yeah.....Me, the friendly techy supporty guy. (It will also include any upgrades and future enhancements.) What a deal!

Just call me if you have any questions, concerns, or just need help making sure that your investment into video yields a valued and positive return.

I read Bob's this morning. I may just have to buy the domain, (((shhhhhhhh))) and start a video blog for all my listings and link to that. That way the only reason folks would go there would  be to see video's of houses, Easy to find. I love Activerain Video, empowered by Mixpo, I just wish I was better at it.

Once I actually get a video camera, I will be looking into this next!

1:23pm • #3

Missy - you just earned a FREE hour on me.  I'll set you up with everything you can do to make the most out of your AR Video experience.  It will only take about 30 minutes, I just wanted to chat the other 30! lol~  :-)

Let me know when it's a good time to call you? I'm headed to Richard and Gary Bolens this weekend to dial them in with some Video stuff, let's hook up next week if you have the time.

PS. I'll be (((Shhhhhh'ed)))

1:29pm • #4

Jeremy - I saw that video camera you borrowed, I'd jump on getting as much footage with that as you can, you can always edit on the video platform later if you want.  Gotta get out there and shoot, shoot, shoot!  :-))

Brad-  I totally agree with you. I know as recent buyer, we looked on the Internet almost daily and if the home didn't have lots of pics. and a virtual tour, we passed right by it. With all of the houses on the market, we didn't want to waste our time. Also, a buyer immediately suspects something is wrong with the property.

How interesting! I just bought a video camera and figuring it out.  Sounds like another good marketing tool.  I am in favor of more pictures and adding video content.

ok maybe I am missing something here and its quite possible that I am. Why wouldnt I just use youtube video (Yeah I know it has the youtube logo on it but who cares?) since its free and FREE?

I am not familiar with mixpo but I have done plenty of video editing. There are tons of free even open source software that does nice video and audio editing. I guess I am missing what it does or something. I am ignorant and admit it! :)

I guess am more tech savvy than some but I am a huge open source free fan and always try to work on community software that everyone is allowed to contribute to. I think it goes hand in hand with my social beliefs as well.

I do understand this is a paid service with which AR can make money and by all means DO IT. I know you need money to run this free site and hey why not make some money right? I guess I just like knowing I can do something for free and do it myself.

(i cant hear the video or else that might clear things up I will come back later when I have sound)

*edit*

ok I went to the site and duh. I still dont know where the ads would go or how or where they are delivered.

We have been using Visual tours for a long time and recently bought the Flip camera and Iam having difficulty producing the presentation. Will Mixpo be easier than some of the other products on the market? I would like to try it far a while and see if this is something I can devote time to. Any suggestions?  I have 5 houses and the raw footage that I need to adjust to the final project.

7:56pm • #12

I still don't understand why some agents don't get this! Buyers skip right through those listings that lack pictures, virtual tours and pretty soon videos!

Hey Brad, I am going to do it, I promise. After Lisa's raving report, I'll do it - okay? ;-)  I have to check out my flip videos to see where I want to start. ;-)

BTW? I don't see my photo anywhere in your collage. It IS there isn't it? ;-)

I am hoping that Santa will bring me a video camera.  I think it would definately enhance my marketing efforts.  However, with all the dues coming up in just a month or so, I may not have much of a budget left.

I'm addicted to video as much as I am to Active Rain!  Trying to learn all that I can since this addiction with video just started a few weeks ago.  Have the Flip camera and that is going well, also have a high end Sony and had a 2 day experience getting all of that set up but it's done.  Learning so much.  Now I am onto Mixpo.  Readling all I can about it on AR first.

Bob's video is impressive.  Thank you.

Thank you for introducing this topic.  Your video intro is impressive.  I am hoping that I can find someone in Dallas, TX who does this for Realtors.  Does anyone out there know of someone?

Brad, I think when video is used correctly it is an instant winner! I've learned not to show too much! Video is like everything else. Use it sparingly to entice and intrigue...we want to get the client in hand before anyone can change their minds!

Have a great day Brad, Later in the rain~Deb

Missy - I have some time Wednesday if you're ok with that, let me know.  We had a blst at Richard and Gary's houses. They cooked us dinner, took us out on their boat, and ended the evening at Gary's house in his recording/music studio.  I think Richard is doing a video post about it....hmmmm, not sure I want to see that one! haha.  :-)

Shane - 2 words...CALL ME!  I can not only explain the difference and value, but I will show you.  Just can't do that in a posted comment.  Thanks 707 718-6773. :-)

Just FYI...this is NOT a money maker for ActiveRain, it's a service we have to pay for to provide to members, and there's no real profit in it at all.  When you call, you'll understand more why we're willing to do that for our network and existing subscribers.

6:51pm • #36

Terry - you can always give it a try and if it works for you, great.  If not, there's no contract and you can cancel anytime. It's all about what you may need or be able to work with that helps your business.  Some folks really don't need a tool like this, they have editing equipments, high end video applications, and years of experience. This would not be a service or tool I'd suggest for someone in that capacity.

6:56pm • #37

Chris and Maria - It's really up to each individual and their specific needs.  We do have many subscribers now that are taking their video experience to the next level for their viewers and readers.  Mixpo and AR Video are unique but then so are so many of the members here.  It's really all about preference.  :-))

6:59pm • #38

Teri - when you're ready, just let me know. I'm here to hold your hand through the entire process if you need me.  Gotcha covered.

Regarding you picture, it's right behind my photo, right behind my heart!  Can you see it?  (Big Smile) :-)))

7:02pm • #39

Joan - if Santa doesn't do it, then he's just wrong!!  You deserve a video camera if for no other reason, just because you want one.  Pay the dues, then go buy one if Santa doesn't cough it up!  You won't regret it and you're going to have to get one eventually anyway, just to keep up.  :-)

7:05pm • #40

Ray - always great to see you around. Glad you're back playing in the rain and around the community again.

7:07pm • #41

Karen - it's there, it's just that your screen is only set at 1040x780.  There are 106,000+ members making my backdrop image here very large.  It's  6,500,896,421 X 2,400,496,284  (won't all fit on the screen) LOL!!~

7:10pm • #42

Gita - you're welcome back anytime, you know that.  Thanks for the email today, I hope you got my response. :-)

7:11pm • #43

Michael - the flip video is great for the right projects, certainly good enough for some of the stuff you'll need for your Blog and websites.

7:12pm • #44

Donna - if you need any help, let me know, seriously, I'm here to help if you need.  That Sony cam is the BOMB!  You can use a combination of the SONY, the FLIP and still photos to put together some fantastic productions both simple and extravagant.

Stay excited, it's a good addiction that should get you results and not get you in some depression clinic! lol~

7:16pm • #45

Lane Team - Video is actually still web 2.0, it's the visual optics and mental telepathy that will become web 2.5.  haha!  Ever see the Matrix?  Now you're talking WEB 3.0!  lol~

7:18pm • #46

Sharon - this is meant to be an easy enough platform to be done by you.  If you're serious about looking for someone in Dallas or nearby that can do this for you, let me know, and I'll hook you up with some great folks, but they're not FREE nor are they only 29.00 for a month.  The other option is for me to show you how easy AR Video and Mixpo are, then make a choice if it's something you want or need.

You know where to find me...(wink wink) ;-)  There is also a company called TurnHere that does a great job producing quality videos but it's at a price.  I may be able to get you an AR Member discount.  Tara Jones is another here on AR, just let me know.

7:23pm • #47

Christine - if you already have editing software that's great, does it allow you to do all the things Mixpo does like embed links, SEO and syndication, Real Time editing etc.? If so,  then you don't need this platform.  I haven't seen a software that can do this yet.  I use iMovie, MovieMaker, and Pinnacle Studio with Paint Shop Pro, but I still need AR Video and Mizpo for the rest.

Here's what I don't like about youtube and I still use it anyway.  When your video is done playing, (at low quality I might add) 4-6 more videos pop up underneath yours.  And guess what, sometimes it's a video from your competitor.  I have had it happen on multiple occasions. It's out of your control, but hey, it is FREE, I just don't like NOT having the choice of what shows up on my player in my Blog.  Just MHO.  :-)

Brad-  I'm trying really hard to use video for my listings.  I hired Fred Light of Nashua Video Tours to come down and shoot.  He did a great job.  I'd love to rave about him and share his work here on Active Rain.  I uploaded the file he created (mpeg4), I watched the entire clip on the Mixpo dashboard, and when I go to extract the clip (the whole thing) it gives me this warning message:  "No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection"

What am I doing wrong?

Patt - adding some video in combination with photos makes for a great presentation. If you ever need help, you'll always know where to find me. :-)

9:59am • #64

Pippa - I knew you'd love it, and since you have some experienced family members, pick their brain for ideas and support.  With experience and support surrounding you, you'll just keep getting better and better at it.  The better you get at it, the funner it seems to become.  :-)

10:02am • #65

Kathleen - not sure that you're doing anything wrong at all.  Why don't you call me, 707 718-6773 and I'll walk you through it.  I know Fred only works on APPLE/MAC, it could be that the file he created for you might have a compatabilty issue or a codec problem.  It may also just be a setting somewhere or something in your browser depending if you're using Firefox or Internet explorer.  I'm in the office all day, so call me anytime.

10:05am • #66

Scott - let me know if you have any questions.  There are 10 primary reasons I like Mixpo AR Video that I haven't seen on other editing and hosting sites. In my opinion, this is what you are paying for.

  1. It's all online - accessable anytime, anywhere
  2. Realtime online editing and updates to all embeded videos
  3. Back-end Awesome analytics
  4. Create Lead generation forms in videos
  5. embedded links in the body of the videos
  6. Huge library of stock videos, photos, music, and sound files
  7. No advertising or competitor videos in the player
  8. One click Auto upload to your youtube account
  9. One click option for SEO and syndication
  10. HD player provides quality sound and picture

There are other great features and benefits, but these are the ones I feel are the most valuable for the cost.  If you already have a quality editing application, and you've been doing it for two years, then deciding if the above features are for you or not is the decision you'll need to make.  It's not the fix-all, end-all for video, and it's not for everyone.  But if you're looking for these types of tools to enhance your video to viewers, it may be right for you. Check it out, let me know if you have any questions or need any help at all.  :-)
