It's that time of year again, it's the SixththAnnual Brea Jazz Festival  2008 ~

Brea Jazz 2008It's the 2008 FREE Concert Series courtesy of the Downtown Business Owner's Association beginning Friday September 5th through Saturday September 27.  Hours are 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm each night.

The concerts take place Friday and Saturday nights in downtown Brea on Birch Street just West of Brea Blvd. You will want to arrive early for seats, they're limited. FREE parking is nearby in the multi-level parking garages in down town. Or, reserved tickets are also available here online. Brea Down Town CA

This year there is an added event, an Arts and Crafts event on Saturdays beginning at 4:00 pm to 10:30 pm. See the event line up and more here.

And for libation, those over the age of 21 can stroll on over to the  beer and wine garden . Local service clubs play host for this event serving the libation.

If you've spent any time in down town Brea you know there's a variety of great eateries. Check out Carvao Grill (formerly Gaucho Grill) is one of my favorites. Another is the Fitness Grill, then there's Jo Jo's Pizza Kitchen, see why they're a  Brea  Business with a Heart!

Hi Linda, Sounds like a really wonderful event. Don't you just love living in Southern California with there is for people to get out and enjoy themselves. We seem blessed that our communities provide so many opportunities for all of us.

Lynda - I love jazz concerts like this. It seems like the majority of towns in Southern California have them. Good thing to know about. Are we going to get a live report?

Hi William and Jeff ~ Two of my favorite Rainers, thanks for the visit. You're so fast, you caught me before my spell check, yikes! We're so fortunate to have so many things like this going on in So Cal.

Lynda,

It's nice to read about an outdoor jazz festival occurring in September....makes me long to live in a warmer climate where the nice weather lasts for most of the year.

Jazz is one of my favourite genres of music and it looks like the downtown area of Brea is the perfect place to be listening to it! Beautiful photo...

Terrific night out...and cheap if you just want to get out of the house for awhile for some fun!  The picture looks like it came out of MGM of Orlando where they set the stages for major films and so forth without the cars!  I would definitely be there if I lived in Brea County.   Maybe next vacation...we are talking about going out West.

This sounds like a lot of fun. We have lots of festivals and events of this nature in our area. They're always a big hit. This is probably a great way to run into people you don't see very often, and catch up. And you have free parking too! A free concert with free parking too? I hope the locals appreciate that.  =)

Lynda, always wonderful to know about Jazz events. Monterey's Jazz Festival was always a treat for us. Redding has a hometown jazz band that's pretty good....but not quite the same. Great post! Wish I could come for a visit!

Lynda, I too am a fan of jazz. Sounds like a fun time and one that I would enjoy attending. Aren't we lucky to have such great weather to be able to enjoy these festivities in CA. Just another reason to live in CA.
