Shingletown is located to the east of Redding on Highway 44 at about the 4,000 foot elevation. It is deep forested land predominately the Ponderosa Pine and the Yellow Pine. With much cooler tempatures and the tall trees many relocating retirees head for Shingletown and the charm and beauty it has to offer. It's a one-hourse town with a small story and gas station and a wonderful little resturant. It has a sweet little shopping area for videos and the bank is there. Across from the video store is the Shingltown Library. There is a variation of altitude. Shasta Forest Village which is at the lower end of Singletown has an elevation of around 3500 and while it get snow, it is of a milder nature. McCumber Lake, however is at the 4,500 elevation and get 2-3 feet of snow through the winter season. It beautiful up in Shingletown and you should come for a visit!
The Town of Shingletown is nestled in amoung the tall trees and great big blue sky. She sweet and a must see on your trip East from Redding.
Shopping is available and the community is very close and neighborly. They'll be glad to see you and hear all about you and how you got to Shingletown!
Wonderful resturant. New ownership. We'll have to try it on the next trip and give your a review of the menu and food.

There's those trees framing our road heading east to Lassen Volcanic National Park. It's been a please visiting Shingletown. A town of beauty and friendly people!
