September and October can be the absolute best time to visit the Outer Banks. With school back in session the number of visitors is greatly reduced and the atmosphere is even more relaxed. Everything is still open for business and there is usually no waiting to get in to your favorite restaurant and no long lines in the check out aisle at the grocery store. It may also be possible to make a left turn on the by-pass without going to the closest stop light.
The weather is great and the water temperature remains comfortable. The fishing and surfing gets better, sunsets are incredible. . . . . .it is OBX connoisseur's favorite time of the year. And, by the way, it is a great time to buy Real Estate too!!!!!!!!
