Sarah Palin was a great pick (my opinion) since she helped reduce property taxes in Alaska which should be good news for all of us in and out of the real estate industry.  This news will help the fight for ALL property owners!  She should be able to rally women and give some life to McCain's campaign!

What do you think of Sara Palin as the next VP?

David there was an earlier blog about her.  I love this lady.  This ticket should slam the door on Obama/Biden

I hope she does breath some life into a lackluster campaign. She looks like a good choice. Will see what the media hounds do to her.

Hey, David. I think she is 100% the best person to have chosen. I am so ready to vote. Go McCain/Palin.   Jim

I think it was a great pick. I'm happy to see a woman on the ticket!!

If the Dems were ready to vote for a woman or a 1/2 black man then everyone should be ready to vote for the McCain/Palin ticket.

Hi David,

I told my family this week, that McCain would probably pick a woman, so we went through a list of posibilties, but didn't pick her.

Therefore, I knew McCain would pick a woman, since the Republicans needed to jumpstart their convention!   Even though I've probably vote for the democratic ticket, she does seem sincere, intelligent and feisty!!  The Republicans need to lift their agenda, so this is probably a good thing for them.  Hopefully the "conservative rednecks" won't be disappointed with McCain picking a "woman".

David,  I just watched Palins announcement speach today.  She was really impressive.  She has it.

Jimmy, Yes she was!  I think she is the spark the Republicans needed to get energized.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Republican party made such a savvy decision. I love the fact that she's a "normal" Mom with "normal" issues. It's about time one of the parties realized how great women are!

She was chosen in the hopes that all the Hillary supporters would defect and vote for Palin.

Not only that but she has the energy to get the fire back into the Republican Party.

I think she is great.  She walks her talk.  She is a hard worker, not caught up in 'the fluff of it all.'  (sold the jet and let the private chef go in Alaska)

I look forward to hearing more from her.    Thanks,    Laurie

The dems are having trouble realizing she is a normal person with real problems unlike the Washington elite.

It was a smart move to help get the votes of those that were only going to vote for Hillary because she is a woman.

Anyone with the connections and financing  to make it into the national political arena is not "a normal person with real problems".

The Republican Party was so dead McCain had to do something shocking to revive it.  What a shock!  All the men and women with many years of service and experience passed by for a woman from a state of small population and less than 2 years experience as governor.  Everyone seems thrilled with someone they didn't even know existed a week ago.  Go figure!  At least she didn't have to spend millions of dollars and campaign for 18 months.

Palin is a natural speaker with a proven record.  She will need seasoning but she has the intelligence to pull it off.

Palin did an outstanding job with her speach.  The only problem could be McCain's speach.  He needs to give the speach of his life to compair to Palin.  She has the Dems shaking in their boots and now McCain needs to follow through with the knockout blow.

Robert - I agree Palin is a natural speaker with a proven record.  She will need a little seasoning, and is intelligent enough to pull it off.  However, I think it is the current lack of seasoning, that makes her appear so refreshing in this political time.

David - I'm not worried about McCain's speach.  Although it wasn't as dynamic as the other key candidates and speakers in the Democrat and Republican conventions, he came off as genuine, and a person of integrity.  I had been waiting for weeks to hear Obama's "vision" being translated into a plan.  It never really happened.  I was a Hillary supporter, who transitioned to Obama.  After hearing Palin, I began to waver, and by the time McCain gave his speach, it pretty much sealed it for the McCain/Palin ticket.  I am a registered Independent, and I'm fed up with partisan politics that don't meet the needs of 95% of Americans.  Both candidates talk about change.  But, I think McCain/Palin could actually break the strangle hold that special interests and lobbyists have on Washington!

I think it doesn't matter because I think Obama will win.

Callie - Obama may win.  But the campaign has already lost the "change" argument.  If the campaign had been interested in change, they would have at least vetted Hillary for the VP position.  The democrat party would not have gathered their clout, and "encouraged" Hillary to step aside for even a single vote of the delegates, who were the representative vote of the people for Hillary.  Instead the party wanted to provide such a collective united front that they divorced the people's vote, and had Hillary and Bill provide unity speeches at he convention.  This was all for the good of the party, and had nothing to do with the will of the vote of the people who went to the polls.

Once Palin, was named the Republican VP choice, the Obama people thought for the "good of the party" that Hillary should come out and introduce herself to a cat fight with Palin. . .All for the good of the machine politics of the democrat party.  That doesn't sound like "change" to me!

The Democrats are running scared now thanks to the genius pick that McCain made.  I usually hate the election season but I have to admit I am enjoying the development of this election.

Callie- Please explain why you think Obama will win.  I just have a hard time thinking he will do well in a debate since he won't have a teleprompter... we'll have to wait and see.  McCain will need to be at the top of his game as well.

Myrl- The only reason Hillary is still giving speeches is because she is practicing for her next run for the White House again Palin.

David,     Obama will win hands down!  He has a good plan for every major issue and McCain has nothing to offer but hype , lies and an inexperienced "hottie".  Without Palin the Republicans would have folded it up and gone home already.  She is just hype nothing more.  No experience, and she has flip flopped every time it benefited her.  Look at the "bridge to nowhere"  She was for it and now against it.  On and on, she increased the spending in Alaska not tax cuts.  Look at the issues and her record.  Not impressive.

Ricki - Obama is the one that doesn't have a clue.  All he can say is HOPE and CHANGE but doesn't give any plan for change other than the change to kill our way of life. Obama's change is to raise taxes and give handouts to those who don't pay taxes.  That's not what our founding fathers wanted for our country.  The growth of business creates jobs... NOT larger government.  Larger government needs more of your and my money to support all of the freebies.  That type of government doesn't benefit anyone!

Obama really doesn't look presidential calling Palin a pig and McCain an old fish.  Sounds like he sank to the kindergarten level.

She is the perfect choice.  She is young, a Washington outsider, a 'Mavrick' in her own rite, and I can comfortably vote for the McCain team. Without her, I would be the reluctant voter.

Also how could I vote for someone that wants to raise taxes immediately?  Obama is a socialist, and wants to redistribute my wealth.  He wants to tax the gains on a sale of a home at 28%, and raise taxes across the board.  If I think real estate is bad now, just wait and see what happens if Obama and Biden get in.

Jim - You are on target.  I don't understand how some people just don't get it.  Why do some think that handouts are okay?  Do they really think free health care is free?  It's like our freedom... It's NOT free!  Everything comes at a cost and as we all learned when we were younger that nothing is free.

David,  Has anyone noticed that we are in one Hell of a mess with the leadership that we now have and we do not need just the same old McCain doing the same old thing.  This country can not survive with any more Repubs in leadership.  What have they done for you in 8 years except to kill this country?  When John has the Big One do you want Mother Palin in charge of this country?  Our leadership is just like one of the baby's diapers when it smells like POOP you change it.

Would someone really think a person is a great pick for the no. 2 position in the world's most powerful country because she or he helped keep Alaska property taxes down? What stunning myopia.

Palin was not a great pick. She was an AWESOME pick! Never since the 60's has politics been this interesting.

Whoever wins is sure to get a lot of attention shortly after entering the White House. May the best "politician" win.

It is amazing that the ones that think that Palin was a great pick are the ones that thought George W. was great. Not only did they vote one time for him but DUH voted again for him.

The average citizen realizes that only the rich and powerful get elected to high offices in this country.  Palen's appeal is that she is on OF US!  Normal Joe Schmoe, neighbor down the street, average person.  What makes her different than every other politician on the news is that we can relate to her, and she to us.  We live in the same world.
