That's the exact quote Rush Limbaugh used today to describe Sara Palin for VP. I have to admit that I haven't fully been on board with McCain as a REALTOR as his immigration issues have really affected so many of my builders and contractors with illegals.

However, here comes a woman, with 5 children, the last of which is only 4 months old and has Downs Syndrome, a Christian and an active member of the NRA. Is this what the Republican party has been looking for? It seems so in recent polling which really has boosted McCain.

Last week if you'd have asked me if the VP candidate would sway my vote in Nov. I would have had to say no. Now I'm not so sure. She seems just like you and me, an ordinary woman with an extraordinary work ethic who fights big government to the hilt. I like her. I'd love to know your thoughts! Does it change your vote?

I was probably going to pull the lever for McCain. Now I'm 100% behind him and will probably put a sign in my yard! INCREDIBLE woman!

Hillary Clinton responded to the pick, saying, "We should all be proud of Governor Sarah Palin's historic nomination and I congratulate her and Senator McCain. While their policies would take America in the wrong direction, Governor Palin will add an important new voice to the debate."

I wasn't going to vote but this is probably going to do it for me.  At least half of the ticket will be acceptable.

Hillary has made it clear who she, as an American, supports and why, so for a Hillary supporter not to take that to heart would be an insult to Hillary and what she based her campaign on.  That some people cannot see beyond gender or race to make their decision on who to vote for, who has the strongest policies and who will take this country in the right direction, saddens me.

Obama still has my vote. And all my republican friends are voting for Obama because of McCain's choice as running mate.

Holly, I was going to hold my nose and vote for McCain; now I don't feel like I have to hold my nose when I vote.

Holly, seems like that is a good move for McCain but that would not change my vote. I will be voting for Obama.

I like her so far. I think she is what was needed. I think they threw some people for a loop too. Meaning the Hillary voters may now swing towards McCain if they were on the Hilllary side because they want to see a woman president. A woman VP is still history making.

There may have been a woman that Hillary supporters would have considered, but Palin is not one of them.

I love McCain's choice.  Not because she's a woman, but because she's got guts and can handle herself.  If you know anything about Alaskan politics and demographics...you've got to respect her.  I think her independence and intelligent approach to politics will be an asset to our country.  I see some excitement and energy being brought into the party which has been missing.  I can't wait to see how she handles everything that will thrown at her over the next several weeks!

Holly ~ You can now see why this was a brilliant move on McCain's part. He even swayed you. This is truly a ticket for change. Thanks for posting.

I am 50 years old and have never registered to vote.  Now you can get on me all you want, I have just not been very happy with the people who I have had to choose.  Many times it seems like our two choices seem to be  bad and worse.  Even in my home state, it has been quite some time when we had someone running for governor who really seemed like they were going to make some positive changes.  I am a veteran, and spent 6 years in the Marine Corps.  I know what John McCain went thru in Viet Nam and the prisoner of war camp.  To opt to stay in that camp 5 more years rather than be released to be a pawn in propoganda speaks volumes to me about his integrity.  And to pick a running mate with the values of sarah palin,  I will be registering to vote for the first time in my life.  And I hope that my vote makes a difference.  I am tired of the coruption going on in Washington and the deals happening behind closed doors. It is time to clean house, and I think McCain / Palin can do it.

Thomas - I would like to thank you for your service.  I have 2 sons in the Marine Corps.  I am looking forward to hearing Sarah's speach tonight.  I, too, plan on voting this time and am excited and proud to be doing it.  I've only voted one time before and only out of a sense of duty...not because I particularly liked the candidate.
