As you drive North along Preston Road you spot the big blue Ikea Superstore, the Stonebriar Mall, Dr. Pepper StarCenter, Roughrider's Baseball Stadium and miles of shopping & dining. 

Then the development starts to dwindle to a shop here or there.  A couple miles of open pasture land, a gas station and a Sonic.  More beautiful greenery that are now starting to fill with Texas wildflowers.

Then on a hillside up ahead sits Carter Ranch, a wonderfully planned neighborhood that beautifully merges Frisco's growth and Celina's quaintness.

Activities abound at Carter Ranch. Outdoor recreations are centered around the amenity center, which sports a full-sized pool, wading pool, cabana, pavilion and playground areas.

My daughter and her friend played there one afternoon while I was waiting on clients.  We watched two turtles sunning in the lake and the girls are dying to come back in the summer to try out the kid-scape pool.  Good thing my clients will be residents by then :)  It's like being a restaurant critic:  you can't recommend the place until you've tried the specials (or in this case the amenities!!!)

The HOA-maintained park contains expansive greenbelts with walking trails. There is even a 10-acre pond on-site with a fishing pier, and catch-and-release fishing is allowed.

Education

Students are educated in four buildings:

a grade PK-3 elementary school built in 2003;

a grade 4-6 intermediate school built in 1987;

a grade 7-8 junior high school built in 1976; and

a grade 9-12 high school built in 1998, with additions made in 2002 & 2003.

Shopping & Entertainment

Conveniently located within a few miles is the popular Stonebriar Center Mall, offering dining, entertainment, shopping and more. Just down the road is Dr. Pepper StarCenter, training center for the Dallas Stars and home of the Junior A-level league team, the Texas Tornado. And just around the corner you'll find Frisco's 20,000+ seat Soccer and Entertainment Center with tons of activities for the whole family!

the right.

From 35E/121:
Take Highway 121 north to Preston Road. Take
Preston Road north. Carter Ranch is on the right.
