There are many things about Fort Worth, Texas that make it a great place to live and to work. Low unemployment, great jobs market, one of the best "hospital districts" in the state, and a vibrant housing market with plenty of affordable homes... all add to Fort Worth's liveability !
The recently-discovered Barnett Shale natural gas field is proving to be one of the largest gas fields in the entire country... and as such, is providing a great source of both jobs and income to the city of Fort Worth and its surrounding suburbs.
But... up until now... something's been missing. Even among the great mix of jobs, wonderful hospitable people, a great housing market, one of the country's finest cultural centers with its prominent museums... something has been missing. But... that has all changed now.
Fort Worth Now Has It's Own Apple Store !
The store actually opened one week ago today... on Saturday, August 23, 2008. I drove over to the store last weekend to take pictures... but with the traffic jam, and the hundreds and hundreds of people just surrounding the store... I could not get close enough to even take a picture.
Out in front of the store there were either two employees, or two fire marshalls... who would not allow anyone to enter the store... until someone else left the store. The lines came out the front door, and down the sidewalk to the right... passing by every single store front in the block... and then wrapped itself around the end store... and disappeared into the back.
The Apple Store is located on South University Drive... just south of I-30... which passes horizontally through the middle of Fort Worth. Also... just a little jog further south on South University... is TCU... that fabulous university that Fort Worthians have enjoyed for many, many years.
The Great City of Fort Worth welcomes the Apple Store. We're So Glad You're Here !
Apple Stores are cool Karen Anne. Didn't know about this one. Next time I'm over near University Drive I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
