Do You Think Obama Is Now Wishing He Chose A Woman For V.P. ???

At this point, Obama has to be asking himself the obvious question;

"Did I blow it?"

"Should I have chosen a woman for VP?"

With some 18 million voting for Hillary, it would seem that McCain has made a very strategic decision in his choice of Gov. Palin.

With all the "fresh, exciting quest for change" being the mindset of the Obama camp, he certainly offered up a non-fresh, washington insider who's been there forever, when he chose Biden as his running mate. Clearly, he did it to counter his obvious lack of on-the-job experience. However, Biden leaves very little to be desired, for the masses who were excited about either Obama or Hillary running for office. Simply put, there's nothing exciting, fresh or new about Biden.

McCain is not exciting, fresh or new. He's been around forever and a day! He's intelligent and he's got experience, but he's not exactly a beacon of hope for those seeking a fresh, exciting, new face, with new ideas. So, what he did was arguably brilliant when he chose one of the most fresh, exciting, new faces in politics as his running mate...and, he was smart enough to choose a woman!

As you listen to Gov. Palin and research her background and accomplishments and observe her personal and professional integrity, it is hard to find something not to like about her!

If Obama had chosen Hillary for his running mate, I truly believe this whole thing would be over right now! They would have clinched the whole deal!

So, at this point I would love to be a fly on the wall, listening in on Mr. Obama's most private conversations. I can't help but wonder if he is wishing that he chose either Hillary or some other exciting female candidate for his Vice Presidential running mate.

What do you think? Do you think Obama is now wishing he chose a woman for his V.P. running mate?

I agree with you.  I think if Obama had chosen Hillary, there isn't one Republican candidate that would have had a chance.  I was praying he wouldn't go there and thankfully he didn't.

I'm excited about McCain's choice and can't wait to see more from her.

I was in the office right after the announcement was made. Of the 6-8 of us (men & women) discussing it, we all said that it was a brilliant move, and that McCain/Palin will now get many of us independents who were on the fence. She and her non-Washington background is exciting!

Why Obama - the "agent of change" - picked a die-hard DC insider really disputes many of his platform claims. He caved to the politics-as-usual stance.

I think that if Obama chose a woman and it was not Hillary he would lose just about ALL Hillary supporters.

I also think that he would not ever have chosen Hillary.  Their campaigns were an ugly bitter fight. I'm sure they both can't stand each other by now and would not work well together for our country.  The political correctness and opportunistic nature of both Barack and Hillary (and every other successful politician) force them to make nice for the cameras.

Obama had to pick a white man that balances his perceived weak area, experience.  Anything else would be too controversial to be electable.

The good news is that whichever way it goes, good history will be made!  We'll either have the first Woman Vice-President or the first Black President...  I think that's great! (and about time!)  I really look forward to the day where that part of the story is not news because color and gender shouldn't matter in who gets elected.

Bill, that would be lovely, wouldn't it? Color and gender should not be the story, ability and character should. Even if people make horrible mistakes, they can still change and do good things that are noteworthy. It would be nice for more good news, and better coverage of important issues.

No, I think his sites are on actually dealing with the issues in this country and working with the people.

I think he has his sites set on change and fairness to all. Not to a few.

I think by choosing someone in foreign policy to re establish better relations with the world leaders as a whole as well as to the integrity of the US reputation was a brilliant move.

Smart move McCain. Despite the general assumption that we women Dems would rather vote Republican than for Obama- I think most were on the fence. The choice of VP has made it easier. Shame on Obama for not thinking with his head instead of his ..........other parts!

This is the good ole boy DAISY DUKE Syndrome, by chosing her.

People like me who are very undecided on which one to vote, This is a slap in the face or wake up call. Do we really want a person with NO  or very little EXPERIENCE running our country. McCain was saying this all along about Obama and not he has chosen some one who even has less experience then Obama. I think this was a very very very bad move on his part.

He is going isolate the Hispanic vote with his select of VP even more.

I think that it was one of the best political moves McCain could have made.  I really like Pallin.  She'd make a great president in eight years!!!

I haven't followed all of the information on Ms. Palin, but what I heard sounded great.  This past week was remarkable for the fact that 45 years after the "I have a Dream" speech, a Black man was nominated as the Democrats Presidential candidate.  In the same week, a woman was selected as the Vice Presidential candidate for the Republicans: a truly transformational week here in America.

I can only speculate on this, but I imagine that Dr. King would be both proud and sad.  Dr. King would probably be proud when he saw a Black man get nominated by the Democrats, but sad that we feel it necessary to mention Obama is a Black man.  I suspect Dr. King would suggest that we judge Obama on his character and qualifications the same way we should with Mccain.  Similarly, I suspect that Dr. King would be proud that this country nominated a woman to be Vice President, but would also be dismayed we have to mention she is a woman.

We as Americans deserve to have our representatives be of the highest character, qualifications, and abilities: period.  All of the other stuff - man, woman, Black, white, etc. is just poliitics.  I don't want "just politics" anymore, I want results.

My feelings exactly. I felt it was a superb move. And I like the lady, and feel she has a lot to offer. She certainly has the enthusiasm and charisma.

People are saying that McCain can no longer talk about Obama's inexperience. What they've neglected to say is that Obama can no longer mention "it's not politics as usual" with his pick of an old DC insider.

Palin is refreshing as a "normal" person with the trials and tribulations of life that the rest of us do or have experienced.

I don't know what this women will have to offer if McCain will be unable to serve. Maybe she will make a great President in 8 years but we need to worry if our commander in cheif at age 72 takes ill or even worse. She has no foreign policy experience and there were far more experienced women to choose from. If McCain thought that he would get Hilary's swing votes he's wrong. Her stand on abortion won't get the liberal women. She is too conservative in her thinking... and I AM a Republican.

I couldn't agree more, if he had chosen Hillary as his running mate, this would be over, Republicans wouldn't have a chance but now things will be interesting!

I am interested to see how this will play out.  I have been through five elections since I hit voting age, and this is by far the most compelling scenario.  On another note, Carolyn's (C Tann-Starr) comment above was really well-written!

I think Obama must have cringed at the news of Gov. Palin being McCain's running mate. He must have thought to himself..."Ouch! That's gonna' hurt me! I should have chosen either Hillary or some other dynamic, intelligent woman for a VP running mate!"

I think after tonight's speech from Gov. Palin, Obama will probably be sweating a little bit, wondering how to deal with such a dynamic, intelligent woman who has executive leadership experience!

Well now, after last night's speech from Governor Palin, I'm certain Obama is wishing he had Hillary or someone like Hillary at his side to attempt to counter the attacks Gov. Palin made about his total lack of executive leadership experience!

Either today or tomorrow the media will release gallup polls and other types of polls which will reveal how people have perceived the Republican National Convention. If those polls reveal that undecided voters are now voting for Senator McCain and Gov. Palin....obviously, the community organizer will be wishing he had chosen either Hillary or some other dynamic, qualified woman as his running mate!

I think Joe Biden is a train-wreck waiting to happen! He's going to cross the line with vulgar comments and it will back-fire on him!
