This morning I feel many of us might have conflicting emotions because of all the things going on.  On one hand we have our friends that are affected by Hurricane Gustav, and on the other hand we might be enjoying the last week-end of Summer. Family, Friends, Compassion and Prayer.....at least one of these will probably consume a lot of our Monday Morning.

Family

Family, Friends, Compassion and Prayer

It can be confusing to have such strong conflicting emotions at the same time. One thing that is very important is it's OK to enjoy a BBQ, it's OK to go shopping for those last minute school supplies, and it's OK not to be glued to a TV set.  After all there's nothing any of us can do at this point BUT Pray.

So today....whatever religion, whatever anyone believes, just say a prayer for everyone affected, including the families and friends that have opened their homes for evacuee's.

Yesterday I wrote an Open Letter that was meant to be from all of us.

Open Letter to my AR Friends in the Gulf States on the eve of Hurricane Gustav

Today I just want to reinforce the love and caring that we have.  Miracles do happen as I said yesterday, and as of this writing, the Hurricane is at a Category 2.  So let's continue to pray, continue to hold our friends and family in our hearts.........and continue our day whatever it may hold.

Here are 2 Gifts to enjoy:

Thanks for the nice reminder that we should all be lending a helping hand and praying for our brothers and sisters.

Angelina- Pay it foreword...that's the best thing about networking, paying it foreword when we can :)

Liz- When I wrote that letter yesterday Gustav was a Category 4, or almost a 5.....now look.  My heart is smiling, but my prayer hasn't ended....

Nostalgic thoughts, yep know those, but I'm lucky to have young Grandchildren.....

Hi Kathy... before I get out of here to have some fun & sun I had to take your quiz. The result "Your friends are so great, it's hard not to be the closest to them... you've picked some amazing friends who count as family to you"...

As Mr BIG (from Sex and the City) would say, abso'freekin'loutely! Have a great Labor Day, hopefully Gustav will be more bark than bite!

marti- So happy to hear you're going out to have some fun...and if you can translate Mr. Big's comment :)  I think it means right on...and I do think Gustav is at this point, as you say, more bark than bite.  And that's truly a Miracle if you ask me.....OK, I'm off to go do some things, and clean my house...fun fun :)

Kathy, I know there is destruction but it is not nearly what they expected.  I'd say keep on praying, I am.

Kathy, We had the most gorgeous weather here today and I worked in my yard all day.  I did feel just like you said though, kind of guilty thinking about all of the folks affected by Gustav.  I came in for updates through the day.   I know the winds are bad, but the last time I heard the levys were holding.  They really had their act together this time, thank goodness.

Kathy,

Great Monday post and I believe as you do, that it is okay to enjoy our lives while holding others in our thoughts.  We can hold good thoughts for others and the power of good thoughts I believe can have a great effect.  Belief in great things is such a powerful thing.

Carole- I got distracted when I read your comment :)  Yep, it sure wasn't as bad as was expected...and that's the good thing :)

Audrey- I am so glad you took the time for your yard, for what made you feel good.  And you are so right, it seemed everyone had their act together this time around...I mean they really had to don't you think ?

Jeanean-Thank you for that lovely comment....and I hope you have a great week.

Rebecca- Look at what happened with that power...we went from a Category 4 to a Category 2 then 1..:)
