The weekend of September 27 & 28, 2008 The City of Santa Clarita is hosting it's 4th Annual free outdoor Street Art Festival in Old Town Newhall on Main Street. Stroll Main Street for live entertainment; watch the fine art of street painting, experience the beauty of international dance, listen to the rhythmic sounds of the featured musicians, and browse the Fine Art and Craft vendors for unique wares.
Art on Canvas
The City of Santa Clarita invites all artists, school age and professional, to enter an original piece of artwork in the Art on Canvas Galley at the Street Art Festival. At the festival, all submissions will be displayed in the Art on Canvas Galley located on the Dance Block.
Three independent judges will determine the winners for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the k-4, 5-8, 9-12 categories. The City of Santa Clarita will present each category with a cash award at participating school. The People's Choice award will be presented to the winning students, and for all Professional category entries, the cash prize will be awarded to the winning artists.

"Santa Clarita-Where the good life takes you."
