If there were ever a quote that should be every agents' motto, this is probably it:
"When you try to be everything to everyone, you fail to address the specific needs of anyone"
IMO, one of the main reasons for the high percentage of failure in this business is the lack of focus most agents employ. An article I recently read @ RISmedia addressed this very topic, and did so quite well.
I'd encourage each and every agent to think today about who your target market is, and begin to devote 110% of everything you have to strictly that market.
If you get leads on business that doesn't fit that target market, refer it (easy money) so you can concentrate your time and efforts on what you're best at. You'll find that your effectiveness is compounded with less work than it takes to use the broadbrush approach in your business, and in the end you'll make more money, serving more clients, as you become known for being a true expert at your targeted market.
Who wants to hire someone who's mediocre at many things and master of none?
