A month or so ago I wrote a blog about another blog that I saw about a guy selling a software that creates fake paycheck stubs.  Apparently this guy is ALL OVER the internet with this software.  Now it is not against the law to make fake paychecks or paycheck stubs, for novelty use.  But it is against the law to use them to acquire a loan from a lending institution.  I have done some investigation concerning this and found out from a lawyer that if you use fake information such as "fake paycheck stubs"  to acquire a loan you are guilty of fraud.  This type of fraud can be punishable by huge fines and long term jail time.  So if you see one of this guy's website offering to sell you software to make fake paycheck stubs, beware.

As I said selling the software is one thing, advertising the use of it to commit a felony is something else.   I even heard comments here on Active Rain by mortgage agents and realtors alike, that they would use this technique to get a client a loan.  Shameful of you people.  Well if that is what you need to do to write business then go ahead.  But BEWARE, if caught you can spend time in prison.

It makes good sense for Rainers to go back and look at that blog and record the names of those who thought that software was a god idea, and avoid them like the plague.

Apparently in my investigations this stuff is big business.  But those who use these tactics need to know what the consequenses may be.

It is amazing what people will do. Fraud is fraud, no matter how you slice it - I wrote about mortgage brokers/LO's & title companies asking to back-date documents (another fraud) and to this day, it is my 2nd most seen blog, and only 8 title companies and 1 mortgage broker spoke up about the practice.  Sad!

Hi, Thomas,

Great post!  I'm surprised to hear about these shenanigans in today's market, especially with lenders requiring an IRS 4506 (tax verification form) for everything.  I have the following to say to people who use this software and get caught:

Nelson from the Simpsons says Ha Ha

Some guy recently placed a comment on here, telling me that if I wrote another on on this subject he would take care of me and threatened my family.  It was a very  nasty post with 4 letter words. But I know who he is and reported it to the proper authorities.  I guess telling the truth and helping to put those who sell these softwares out of business is getting to them.  I am not intimidated easily.  I did have to delete it, as it was pretty graphic.  The police liked it though  :-)   as apparently the comments from this guy constituted a crime.  I am sure they will follow up.

Too bad they could not get this guy under the patriot act for creating false identities possible.  There ought to be a law!

hmm fake paycheck stubs in order to get a loan.  I am sure the Governement regulators would love to see the way this guy is promoting his fake paycheck stubs software.  I guess I need to call the California Attorney General again and guide him to my Blog to show him how Eric Hope is utilizing his software program.  And how he is asking people to violate the Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act.  If you do business with fakepaycheckstubs.com you could wind up in the SLAMMER.
