Blog-o-sphere proclaimed Condo King and Rising Real Estate Rock star is named Jared Seligman of Corcoran Properties.

Who is Jared Seligman?

Currently at just only the age of 21, he is becoming widely known as the young powerhouse in Manhattan Real Estate.  Most Notable for his famous clients from the Olsen Twins, Tommy Hilfiger Family and almost all runway models in the city Jared is a rising superstar.

At age 20 in 2007 he became Real Estate Rookie of the year selling more than $40 million dollars worth of property.

With his success also came criticism placing him in 3 categories in Real Estate Blogs.. Young, Inexperienced and Arrogant but despite these remarks he ignores them and continues to drive up success.

I know that most Real Estate Rookie of the Year are in the late 30's and in order to achieve respect that most Agents look at Tenure and Experience but that does not mean that being young and successful is a bad thing.  Jared actually likes keeping his life private.

In life Money is the driving force for young people and the older you get is money plus a combination of being well rounded and leaving a legacy.

Part of his drive was that he was working 12+ hour shifts every day and worked hard at his job. He is highly motivated and takes his job serious.

"When I turned 18, I said, 'I'm going to give this a shot, and give it six months to see if it works,'" he said. "Not many people knew I was 18, and I tried to keep it a secret." Jared Quoted.

Being young myself I sometimes tend to keep my Age a secret at times too even though my Baby Face glows it, I feel age is nothing but a number.

I decided I wasn’t a student," he says. "I wanted to be my own boss and make my own rules."

Now I don't think every kid should skip college like Jared but he decided that school wasn't a right fit for him and everyone knows in order to achieve success you have to find the right fit.

"I recently sold an apartment with no phone, e-mail or text conversations—I did the whole deal via BlackBerry Messenger! I don’t even think anyone in my office knows what that is."

Being young he had the right of passage of being hip with Technology in which Jared takes full advantage of especially with High Class Clients who are trendy and hip 24/7.

I let clients know my Instant Messenger screen name as-well because its just another High Tech way of reaching me.

The main point of this blog is Showcasing this hot new talent and admiring his relentless ability to ignore criticism and continue his drive and success. As with myself, I am fairly young as-well so I deal with critics too but I back that up with my hard work and dedication.

Age is nothing but a number, Character goes a long way!

Boy, what a story. He sould be quite a character to make it in Manhattan at that age, dealing with the clientele like he has. Incredible.

That's a great story. Good for Jared. I would guess he will continue to succeed, from what little I can gather about his attitude and drive. ~Rita

I also started when i was 21 now almost 25 and it's been quite the journey.  As long as you have the personal confidence to carry your self as a professional you can prevail.

Every deal I did allowed to me to get more and more confidence.  Took me longer than this rock star but i'm on my way.

People want to work with people that are dedicated, provide great customer service (the whole reason I knew there was room for me in the Real Estate Business) and who are cutting edge which the younger generation has been brought up in.

I love Blackberry Messenger!

If he can get the job done for his clients, it doesn't much matter how old he is.  Sounds like he's working hard.

This is an awesome story...

I also started out at a young age and dominated my area market. I was highly criticized by other local Realtors in the area who had been in the business for years. I hit the market hard with advertising and made a noticeable impression.

Biggest tip for anyone. Find out what no one does and do it!

I found a local publication that was mailed directly to all homes in the area with only few agents inside. This was a pretty well known publication. I bought the back page that wrapped around the mail when delivered. Every mailbox that was opened saw a picture of me once a month.

I am currently 4 years into the industry and still maintain being on top. I am currently in the process of designing an awesome personal publication that will set me apart from my competitors.

Do noticeable things that garner attention.   Be creative and have fun!

Justin, that's a cool post. Age IMHO doesn't matter a bit, if you know your stuff. It doesn't matter a bit if you are older either. Just stay on top of all the changes and you will be fine. I like he negotiated the whole deal on his BB and said, I don't think anyone in the office knows what one is. cracked me up.

HI JUSTIN!

I'm all for it!  I love a go-getter, young or old.  I say, who cares how old he is?  What does that have to do with anything?  Obviously nothing, because he's rockin & rollin!

Have a great week!

There is much to be said for energy and enthusiasm for the job; people want that in a service based industry.

Awesome,  I also was awarded Rookie of the year for N. Cal oregon and N Nevada my first year, and as one of those who was in their later 30's I also got a lot of slack from Sr. Agents in my office, so age doesn't matter, when you come in with fresh idea's and lots of energy people will try to cut you down, heaven forbid you make them look bad.

All I can say is that this is very inspriring. I'm new to the real estate world and just turned 37. I hope to have this type of success thru all my hard work......Thanks for the wisdom......
