Is it really that hard?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

So this is my first "official blog" on the active rain website and I have been inspired by many of you on here.  So I am giving my at hand at this.  I love real estate like most everyone on here and I have a level of respect for my job that I can't describe and it makes me want to scream when I go on a listing appt after the listing has been expired by a previous realtor and I can name five problems with the entry on the multi-list.

Problem #1

Why don't you have any pictures?  Is it that hard and time consuming for a Realtor to take pictures of your home?  If I am showing homes and there aren't more than 1 photo or any photos at all I skip that house.   Immediately I think there must be something wrong with the house.  Clients do the same thing when they are searching online.

Problem #2

Why is your home being sold 'as is?  Come on Realtor I know your client says they don't want to put any more money into the house, but that does not mean in any way it should be posted as 'as is'.  My impression of a $300,000 home being sold 'as is makes me not want to step foot in the door.  I don't think about the little old lady who isn't tearing down her wallpaper.

Problem #3

I am not driving all over town to pick up a key at the realtors office.  Who wants to do that when you have 8 houses to show and you have to go pick up keys.. NO WAY>>  Use a lockbox.   Your office doesn't pay for them; GO TO THE LOCAL HARDWARE STORE AND BUY ONE!!  Along same lines why do I need an appt to show a Vacant Home...   Don't be lazy REALTOR read your lockbox to know who's showing the home.

Problem #4

Oh so you don't have a cellphone listed and I have to contact your office for an appt. It's Sat afternoon and your office isn't opened.    Enough said.. Your a REALTOR  list your cellphone number or GET ONE!!!!

AND PROBLEM #5

WOW the Realtor has some great photos of your home listed on the MLS, but the date stamp is from 6 months ago..  HELLO!!!!

Welcome to AR Melissa, and great first post.  I agree it is frustrating when we have to deal with listings from realtors who don't do a decent job.  It makes us to their work for them.

Melissa,

Its a shame that you have to tell these things to REALTORs over and over.
