What makes you unique?

I am sure you all have a face only a mother can love and you are all special in your own little way but what makes you unique in this industry?  What makes you different then the guy down the street with the same license?

Furthermore, can you communicate this difference in 30 seconds or less if you are at a networking event?

The business books call it a Unique Selling Proposition or USP.  What is your U.S.P.?

There are often a lot of things that make us different but if you boil it down to one statement....what would it be? Do you use it in your marketing?  How has it effected your business?

This is a two part post.

1) What is your USP?

2) How do you communicate it in your marketplace?

My USP for marketing properties is:

"Earning Your Endorsement" Our focus is being on the cutting edge of technology to help you get top market value for your home in the shortest time period and have you be so satisfied that you become an "advocate" for our business.

I would love to hear what yours is?

Hi Timothy,

Good question indeed!  Our USP is that we are a Husband and Wife Team specializing in the area we grew up (The Pascack Valley).  Would love to hear what others list in the comments of this post.

Lisa:  That's great.  Not too many people on the East Coast can say that.  We all tend to move around so much.  What a great area to grow up in.....The Pascack Valley.  Is the Iron Horse still in Westwood?

AZ Mortgage Rates

1.  I give my clients loan pricing without asking what they were quoted elsewhere.  The deal I put on the table is always the best I can offer.  I tell them to shop around (nobody does that).  I don't care because I know there is only a very slim chance they can find something better.

2. A lot of my business comes from the web, so I put my USP in a mission statement of sorts.  I want people to know that there is no need for negotiation skills when dealing with me, because I don't screw people.

How's that Timothy?

Karen:  Sounds great.  I particualry like the first part of quoting a rate w/o knowing what they were previously quoted.  Good job Karen.

My UPS... "I work for the Client, not the Realtor".  People say "I finally found you, thank God."

Tim- my ups is rather simple... "Meeting your needs today...for tomorrow". I have also been a life long resident of the County I work in and have over 100 years of ancestry in this county. It is important for people to know I not only live here I Know my whole County.

John:  It is rewarding when people say that, isn't it?

Dan:  100 years, wow, that gives new meaning to the word legacy.  Those are some roots.
