No more than 15 years ago (Imoved here in 1996) all that is Viera was a ranch, pastures with scrub oaks, and various agricultural interests. Viera, Florida (although unincorporated part of Brevard County most think of it as a custom built town) is a fast-growing, master planned community in Brevard County, Florida, located in the Space Coast region. Viera become home to many of the county's government buildings including the Main County Courthouse, Brevard County School Board, as well as the VA Outpatient Clinic. With several new schools being constructed in the past few years including the new Viera High School, it is clear that this area is being recognized for the quality of living it provides! With Space Coast Stadium the spring training home of the Washington Nationals, Viera area is also home to the minor league baseball Brevard County Manatees.
Viera is close to everything - 45 minutes to Orlando, Florida and its attractions, 15 minutes to the beaches, mid-way between Miami and Jacksonville. An ideal location, a very temperate climate, lots of golf and water access.... So much to offer. Viera is close to Rockledge (oldest town in Brevard County), Suntree (another planned development), Patrick Air Force Base, Merritt Island, Cocoa Beach.....
What kinds of homes are available in Viera? Most are newer constructions probably dating from the early 1990s until new construction. Price ranges vary from the low $200s to upwards of several million dollars. There are maintenance free communities, golf course direct communities, gated communities, condo complexes, any type of community you could imagine!

I have lived in Brevard County since 1990. When I moved here there was no Viera, Suntree was just developing, there was nothing on Wickham between Suntree Blvd. and Post Road, and Fiske Blvd ended just past the entrance to I95. I have wathced this area grow and prosper into a beautiful community. Last year I bought my first house, in Viera of course, and I have loved every minute of it.
