Lakeland Florida - First Friday "Back to School"

Did you miss last month First Friday "Dog Days of Summer"? I had so much fun taking my grandkids to this fun-filled entertainment of music, shows, Lakeland's K-9 police demo, and of course all the beautiful dogs. We enjoyed dinner at Crispers - perfectly created summer salad, awesome sandwich and great tasting soup and their kids meals are always a favorite with my grandson. We've listened to live music while eating and then made our way across to Munn Park to see the classic car show, did a little bit of shopping and watched the dogs happily wagging their tails. This month theme is "Back to School" - Just because Labor Day is traditionally celebrated the end of summer.... Downtown Lakeland has summer fun in store for you; honoring our educators, MidFlorida Federal Credit Union is sponsoring a $500 Downtown Dollar giveaway. How can you participate? Anyone working in any capacity with the Polk County Public Schools or private schools may register to win at the Downtown Lakeland Partnership, Inc. (DLP) booth located at the corner of Munn Park at Kentucky and Main Street.

Petra, Thanks for visiting my blog recently. It's nice to meet you here in the RAIN... I enjoyed reading your bio and how you ended up where you are from Bavaria! I'm sure you bring an intersting cultural tone to your community. It always fasciantes me how people move around, and the stories that carry them. The town of Lakeland looks so quaint, and I love all the festivity! I'm assuming your grandkids are close by... My only one (18 mos) is quite a ways awaym and it's awful! :-) Happy days to you,
