CATSKILLS/CASINOS

Have you ever been to the Catskills??? Recently or many years ago?

ONCE UPON A TIME the Catskills were a renowned resort area. It was the "place" to go, it was on the top of everyones list. Whether it was summer, weekends, winter, it didn't matter. The entertainers were always there. It was a family resort area, something for everyone: dancing (remember the movie "Dirty Dancing), Golf, skiiing,& horse racing to mention a few.

Then slowly without fanfare, the resorts became  depressed, in need of some major updating. People started going elsewhere. They flew to Vegas, drove to Atlantic city, Myrtle beach and Disney. The world become smaller. They were going everywhere but the Catskills.

Now the ultimate attempt to revive this mountain resort area is on the books. I am talking about a Multi-million dollar Casino. It is receiving the typical opposition; from too much traffic to the fact that the visitors won't leave the casino to tour the mountains.

I feel confident that the Casino will be built. When this happens the rest of the resorts will revive to the glamour that was once theirs. AND THEY WILL LIVE HAPPILY EVERAFTER.
