10,000 Points - Never Thought I'd Get There!

At the outset of my joining the Active Rain community back in January 2008, I hit the ground running and banged out 11 posts in less than a week thinking how hard could this really be?

While I embraced this whole phenomenon of blogging, I don't think I totally understood the power of this community and how much I could learn from my peers and the great friends and relationships that could be created through our shared knowledge and the willingness to give that knowledge to others.

It wasn't until I realized it's not just about me writing a post to get points, it's about reading your posts, learning who you are, where you are from, what drives you in your life and in your business leaving comments in celebrations of your accomplishments, agreeing or disagreeing with your opinions, and thanking you when inspired and educated me.

Once I reached the conclusion of how poweful a role blogging can have on you, me and those we reach out to the so to speak flood gates have opened and given me a greater insight in becoming more proactive in posting on a more consistent basis so I can hopefully share with you a little about my dreams, my family, where I live and work and to not take so darned long to get to the next 10,000 points.

Congrats on the 10K - it seemed to me that the first 10k were hard and slow, then it kind of snowballs. I didn't even notice when I hit 50K. Points are important and something to be proud of. Good wishes for the next 20K.

Good Job. I just hit the 50K mark last week. I enjoy it. I have also found that the value of AR is the wealth of knowledge here. Its a great resource for me.

Donna, I'm not the first, but I truly hope I am not the last in saying "Congratulations". I look forward to reading your future blogs as well... before you know it, you will be at 50,000 points, and you will have deservd every point.

Donna- congrats on the first big milestone. Keep it up, don't just read, comment! Pretty soon you can be at 100,000 points. Between now and the end of the year you can get about 28000 points just by commenting.

Congratulations, Donna. When I first started blogging on AR, I wanted to score some points too. However, I didn't how it work, and soon enough, you reach a milestone. Pretty soon, you reach the next 10,000 and so on. Kinda makes you feel rather good, especially when you know you are blogging from the heart.

Congratulations. I just recently surpassed the 10,000 mark and am hoping to get to 15,000 by October. Good luck!

Mike - Thank you so much. I'm finally realizing the value of commenting more and can see how fast the points add up. 100,000 points would be such a huge milestone to reach. I'm going to take you at your word that it's possble to get about 28000 points just by commenting by the end of the year. I'll let you know on December 31st!

Sherry - I didn't know how it all quite worked here either when I first started blogging including the value of the point system. Blogging from the heart is what counts a lot to me too. I want to feel good about what I write instead of just posting something just to get a few more points.

Jessica - Woo hoo! Congratulations to your surpassing the 10,000 point milestone. I have no doubt you'll reach 15,000 by October. My granddaughter lives in Newington and I'm up there frequently to visit. I hope we can get a chance to meet in person some day soon.

I have been around for a long while and can tell you I would not be the online persona that I am if I had not embrassed the members of AR. I must admit, it's work, and a lot of people/agents don't want to go there. Once you cross this hurdle you are open to a world of change and how to succeed in real estate over the next 10 years. The market has changed and you must be ready to make a living, save for retirement, etc.

Tracy - I'm always up to a challenge, not afraid of some hard work and thinking outside the box to reach my goals and to become more successful in real estate. I love your blog which in and of itself is a true testament to your sucess!

Kudos Donna and congrats to reaching the 10K. I read many of your blogs and it appears that you put a lot of thought into what you write. Where do you find the time because it seems like you stay pretty busy also.

Charles - Thank you so much for your kind words. Time is a precious commodity these days but I'm a bit of a night-owl and do a lot of my reading, posting and commenting during the late nght hours. I'm just hoping it doesn't catch up with me any time soon. :)

Frank - Thanks for the congrats. Point well taken.....since I've hit the 10k mark, I've had all kinds of blog topics popping into my head and immediately write them down for future posts.

By the way, I've visited New Orleans twice and it is by far my favorite place in the country. I also have an aunt that lives in Kenner and a cousin in Metairie.

Donna, it catches up with you, especially if you're regular at posting a blog and commenting on other posts. I try to do that pretty much daily. ;-)

Teri - You caught me...here I am at 1:45 a.m. EST reading blogs and posting comments. Time for me to get some sleep. :-)
