texJust in case all of you don't read the group e-mails, wanted to make sure you knew that the, Beat The Heat, contest deadline has been extended till Sept. 9th.  For two reasons.

1.  The long Labor Day Weekend that most spent with family...this will give you a chance to still get an entry in.

2.  Also I have been undergoing treatment for Hep. C, and have to take an injection once a week.  The last couple of weeks was a littler tougher, so I did not get much done.  I'm feeling ad doing much better now, and I truly appreciate your calls and e-mails to check on me.  I got this dreadful disease 40 years ago from a blood transfusion, but it did not start the major damage to my liver until 8 years ago.  Which is when I found out I had it...that's why they refer to it as "The Silent Killer"  There is an 80% chance that this 6 months to 1 year of treatments will cure me.  That's were my betting money is going :-)...I'm gonna kick some butt.  Just a few curve balls every once in awhile.

I also have my Austin get together post and slide show working and should have that out in the next couple of days.

We are up to 397 great members, so thanks so much for helping me spread the word for new members.  I also totally appricate all of your great post.  This group has turned out some very fine writing.  In fact I'm a little surprised we have not been featured on the AR e-mail group.  We are also one of the most active groups on AR.

Thanks for your understanding, Liz

By the way Tex, our groups Longhorn mascot said to be sure and tell everyone Hi, and that he and Mrs. Molly are still happily married and thanks to y'all for "hooking" them up :-)

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE  Unless as Rich likes to say, "You've been under abridge", you know that Houston (were I and Marchel are was hit with a devastating hurricane!  I do have power, Thank God...since there are 2 MILLION WITHOUT POWER.  So I will get the post and winners announcements out this week.

Also I would like to thank my friends for all their kind words, thoughts and prayers.  I am feeling much better, and optimistic about my cure...You truly are like family, Liz

Dale...

I'm doing much better than the average person, and not having any of the really bad major side effects, mostly just fatigue.  I can deal with that compared to some of the really scary stuff others go through.  Hopefully I can get the virus gone in 6 months and not have to stay in treatment for a whole year.

Getting back to my writing, and keeping in touch with you and my other friends who have been so supportive, thank you for everything, Liz

Ricki...

I forgot to tell you I had another cat die!  Clyde, so now all I have is Bonnie, the one who has nothing to do with even me :-)...go figure.  We were at the lake and the pet setter came over and Clyde was just laying on the floor dead.

I had them take it to the vet, and he could not see anything wrong, and he had never acted sick at all.  He was only around 14 too.

Survived the Hurricane unscathed, didn't even loose power, but with everything going on...contest winners sill not ready.

Guess it's time for my pity party to stop and me get my butt back in life friendsThis slide show has still got me stuck.  I think I'll call Brad with AR and see if he can walk me through it.

Love You Girl Friend, L

Russell...

There is a great older book titled, "PS Your Cat's Dead", very funny.  Talk about have a bad day, everything went wrong for this guy, then he gets home and his wife has left him and in her note at the bottom was the PS :-), really funny.  The picture of you and I is very good too, and will send it to you if my last attempt does not work.  L

Carl & BWP...

I've missed you guys too, and assume all is well in your world.  It brought back a lot of memories putting the picture of Tex up :-)...maybe I should do a follow up on Tex and Molly.  L
