Yes, I keep dropping! No, unfortunately not my weight!  My AR rankings keep dropping! I don;t know how some folks keep posting and posting and posting.  It makes one wonder if anyone is working!  I do know a couple of folks who have an assistant and their main job is to keep post appearing on their blog.

What is the secret to keeping those AR numbers high?

I have been trying to figure that our ever since I joined AR a couple of years ago.  I have noticed that during the slower times, folks do tend to post more and more.  I guess the real secret is that if a person has the time to post on AR, they can pump their AR numbers up and up and up.  As with anyting it just takes time.

Anyway, I had a little free time this morning to post and raise my numbers up!

Scott, just write blogs when you do have time and then post them.  It is hard to keep up when you are busy but if you have some blogs in reserve you can just drop them in whenever.  I also keep my email on in the background while I am working on my reports and respond to the emails as they come in.  If you write the blogs in word you can just copy and paste them into your blog----that saves a lot of time.

Hi Charles,

I do pretty much the same.  I type the blog in Word and the paste to my blog.  It I kind of dumbfounding to see folks putting up 10-20 blogs in a couple of days. I guess being busy with paying jobs, beats trying to keep those AR points up! ;)

Since you only get points for 10 per week---those that are posting more than 10 must have nothing better to do:)

HI Scott, I was reading a post here the other day or may a week or so, one receives a percent from people bogging under your invite here at A/R. That may be it. I write my drafts in mircosoft word than tranfer them over later.

Scott - the trick is to not have a life and be an insomniac.  Oh and by the way, the whole time you are on an inspection be taking notes for your new blog.

Honestly, I don't know how some people do it.

Ten blogs a week,  I don't know if I have ten in me a month. It's nice to chat backand forth here and there, but you can see some people put hours everyday into this.

I don't blog much at all but you do get 25 points for reading and commenting on other people's blog.

Scott,

I like your button.  If you are busy do you really have time to worry about where AR says your ranking is?

Scott, I love rising in the rankings and as I rise I watch those ahead of me. So please know we do keep up with what you are doing. I do not think there are any secrets. I blog as often as I can, schedule allowing. I comment the maximum times allowed per day and invite and train as many as I can, although that old adage of "leading a horse to water" applies here. Nonetheless, it really does not take that much time. Just look at Michael Thornton, he is so ridiculously busy, he post and comments, etc @ 4:00 in the AM. Now I am dedicated and slightly addicted, but there is a limit to everything Balance is key. So I am done. My weekend officially starts in 30 minutes. Anyway, I hope you do not mind me creeping up on you. Hopefully the competition is friendly enough.

Best of luck and have abgreat weekend!

Bo

Scott,

When I first joined Active Rain I stayed up until all hours of the night and race home to get to the computer to blog. Even when I was participating "full time," I was amazed how some folks posted two or three blos a day. OK, some of it... much of it was cut and paste, but there were some people that seemed to just never run out of things to write about.

Well, I have to tell you, one day I just g felt so burned out that I just couldn't do it anymore. Actually, tonight is the first time in quite a while that I even signed on. I think AR is a great place. But, everything in moderation.

Now that I'm here, it's great to see all you guys.

Bob, as busy as you are, I see you are still a wolf. Who's the babe in the picture?

Hey! How do you do all that fancy stuff with the opening page?

Hi Steve

Never to busy to answer a friend.

I have yet to get around to the make over, but look on the left side of your home page.

Should say customiser as an option in edit.

Yep, it has always amazed me at the types of post folks post.  Cut and paste tends to be the the norm when a person wants to increase the rankings.

2:16pm • #14

Thats why I do not crank them out.

If they do not have have anything to say ,they just post others thoughts , seeking points.

Amazing as it is ,I think those with brains know the difference.

I would rather have a few mis-cues than look thoughtless.

I agree. I don't know how some people put out so many blogs.  It's all I can do to try to get one a day and sometimes I miss a day.

Just do it for yourself and forget about the rankings. Have fun and do it when you have the time. Life is all about moderation.

Hi Scott,

For a while I was one of those who blogged a lot.  You may have noticed that I haven't written one in some time.  My wife wanted to know if she still had a husband.  There really is LIFE outside of active rain.  Just got back from a trip to the southwest visiting three of my grandkids.  Beats blogging by a long shot.

I wouldnt be too concerned with your numbers Scott, if you are so busy with all of your Inspections, that's what really counts right?

Hi Scott, you have a lot more points when I have but points are not everything. When I find something thats worth posting, I post it if I have the time. Good luck to you in the points race.

Yep, it is hard to post when you are busy.  I have not posted in about a week or so, I must admit I would rather go to the bank than to AR!
