Swansboro NC Dog Wash - Yes, You Read That Right!

Summer is officially over but for those of us who live in Swansboro, Hubert, Camp LeJeune or surronding areas in Onslow County, NC on the coast of Eastern North Carolina; this is a time of the year we always look forward to.

Our weather is still warm and the beaches are beautiful and uncrowded. The nights are cooler, some of the humidity is gone and the water seems more clear and a deeper shade of blue. . Does it get any better than that? I think not!

So it is off to the beach we go. It's a great time to take our dogs to the beach Swansboro NC dog on beach where they can run and play in the water. What a fun day for us as well as our dogs. But there is always a price to pay, right? The down side to this is a wet, sandy and salty dog! What to do?

I know exactly what you're talking about... it's "the local's" summer. Great weather and the place mostly to yourself.

How cool is that! I've never seen a dog wash before, but maybe I haven't looked close enough...

It was sad to visit Franklin Park yesterday to get some images to find that, as usual, the pool is closed for the winter. Good grief, it's 95% here today. After school and weekeds are still good times to visit our outdoor parks and recreation location.

But, the pools are ALL closed.

Thank goodness the lake is still available.

I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo jealous!!! I only saw the beach one time this summer. I think I'll have to talk hubby into a little day trip to Wilmington before it gets cold. Maybe...he'll even agree to a romantic weekend. Enjoy your beautiful beaches, my friend! GBU!

Hi Cynthia, A nice local feature for sure. A dog wash ?, I have never seen one here in our neck of the woods. But I have a deep sink in the laundry room although the girls ( yorkies) do way better with the groomer.

Summer weather has now returned from a blessed month of spring like weather here. Regretfully with no rain in the forecast any time soon, the hills are a burned out brown color and with fire season just weeks away, we are once again at risk.

Going to the beach sounds like a great idea though, as the kids are back in school and the summer tourists have all gone back home leaving the beaches to look a bit deserted. Best time to enjoy!

What a fantastic thing to have close to the beach! My dog also loves the sand and water and is a filthy mess when we're leaving.

Hi Cynthia, it is a great time when the beach has open space and you can soak in all the smells and sounds the ocean has to offer. I still have wear sandals...nice post Cynthia.

Oh, it is sublime! Come on down and enjoy a slice of heaven...but you might need to wait a week or so though with the hurricanes that are heading our way.

What a great idea! I love to see an entrepreneur find ways to expand the business by finding new ways to sell what he's already selling. He saw a need specific to his area - a niche - and filled it. Very smart.

I have never been to NC beaches but I always wanted to go when I lived on the East Coast. Sounds like a great place to be this time of the year!

PS - I grew up on Long Island and I remember seeing bumper stickers about the beaches in NC. I can't remember exactly what they said but I remember a red heart was on it. Do you remember?

Cynthia: nice big fonts and I liked the dog wash picture. Its amazing what people will invent but I like this idea.

A friend of ours just relocated to Florida, This past week, he spent moving his boat from Connecticut to Florida. He was a bit concerned as his timing through the Carolinas approximated that of Hurricane Hannah's. Glad to hear you all made it thru the storm okay.
