Summer is officially over but for those of us who live in Swansboro, Hubert, Camp LeJeune or surronding areas in Onslow County, NC  on the coast of Eastern North Carolina;  this is a time of the year we always look forward to.

Our weather is still warm and the beaches are beautiful and uncrowded.  The nights are cooler, some of the humidity is gone and the water seems more clear and a deeper shade of blue.  .  Does it get any better than that?  I think  not!

So it is off to the beach we go.  It's a great time to take our dogs to the beach
Swansboro NC dog on beachwhere they can run and play in the water.  What a fun day for us as well as our dogs.  But there is always a price to pay, right?  The down side to this is a wet, sandy and salty dog!  What to do?

I have the answer! Take your dog to the "Swansboro Express Care Dog Wash" of course!  It is located on Corbett Avenue so you can't miss it.   This is the perfect solution.  The dog wash is a convenient, easy and efficient way to wash away the sand and salt and take home a clean, happy dog. Dog Wash - Swansboro NC

Of course while you are there, you need to wash the sand and salt off your car too and perhaps get a lube and oil change.

Oh, I almost forgot..... if you are looking to buy or sell real estate in Swansboro, Hubert, Richlands, Jacksonville or any area of Onslow County, I would love to hear from you.

I know exactly what you're talking about... it's "the local's" summer. Great weather and the place mostly to yourself.

How cool is that!  I've never seen a dog wash before, but maybe I haven't looked close enough...

It was sad to visit Franklin Park yesterday to get some images to find that, as usual, the pool is closed for the winter.  Good grief, it's 95% here today.  After school and weekeds are still good times to visit our outdoor parks and recreation location.

But, the pools are ALL closed.

Thank goodness the lake is still available.

I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo jealous!!! I only saw the beach one time this summer. I think I'll have to talk hubby into a little day trip to Wilmington before it gets cold. Maybe...he'll even agree to a romantic weekend. Enjoy your beautiful beaches, my friend! GBU!

Hi Cynthia, A nice local feature for sure. A dog wash ?, I have never seen one here in our neck of the woods. But I have a deep sink in the laundry room although the girls ( yorkies) do way better with the groomer.

Summer weather has now returned from a blessed month of spring like weather here. Regretfully with no rain in the forecast any time soon, the hills are a burned out brown color and with fire season just weeks away, we are once again at risk.

Going to the beach sounds like a great idea though, as the kids are back in school and the summer tourists have all gone back home leaving the beaches to look a bit deserted. Best time to enjoy!

What a fantastic thing to have close to the beach! My dog also loves the sand and water and is a filthy mess when we're leaving.

Hi Cynthia, it is a great time when the beach has open space and you can soak in all the smells and sounds the ocean has to offer.  I still have wear sandals...nice post Cynthia.

Cynthia - The locals get a chance to enjoy their lovely beach.  Great idea to have the car wash and dog wash at the same place.

Cynthia, What a wonderful idea!  It would make it so much easier to bring Fido when he can actually come home clean!

Cynthia, if I had a dog, I'd take him/her to the dog wash. Much better than that old bathtub trick! ;-)

Hi Sally,
It is cool, this is the first and only "dog wash" I've seen!  Thanks.

Chuck,
Oh, it is sublime!  Come on down and enjoy a slice of heaven...but you might need to wait a week or so though with the hurricanes that are heading our way.

What a great idea! I love to see an entrepreneur find ways to expand the business by finding new ways to sell what he's already selling. He saw a need specific to his area - a niche - and filled it. Very smart.

I have never been to NC beaches but I always wanted to go when I lived on the East Coast.  Sounds like a great place to be this time of the year!

PS - I grew up on Long Island and I remember seeing bumper stickers about the beaches in NC.  I can't remember exactly what they said but I remember a red heart was on it.  Do you remember?

Penny,
Neither have I but isn't it neat?  Thanks.

Hi Lenn,
The pools are closed here too, isn' that the pits?  We were at the pool Monday and talking about just that, the explanation we got was "all the life guards are college students".

Hello Elizabeth,
Don't be jealous, just get in the car and come on down.  You know the girls would love it!

William,
I think of all of you on the west coast when the fire season comes.  I pray that the rains will come and the threat will be minimal.

There is nothing better than a big dog that was just washed!  What a great convenience - I'll bet the dog feels better too.

Craig,
It is great and anyone who whose ever taken their dog to the beach would I agree, I'm sure.  Thanks.

Hello Gary,
Don't tell me you don't like the feel of sand under your feet......you're missing out on one of the best the beach has to offer.  :0)

Hi Jennifer F.,
Isn't it a wonderful idea?  I surprised there are not more in the area.  Thank you.

Carole,
True!  Especially if you have a long hair dog--that wet sand is not something you want in your house.

Hello Teri,
Oh yes!  Washing a sandy dog in the bathtub has lots of disadvantages, one of which is all the sand left in the tub!

Don,
It is a new concept for me and I think it is wonderful.  Thank you.

Peg,
I agree, what a smart idea to expand on what the business already did.  Thank you.

Hi Janice,
Too bad you never made it to our coast, you would love it.  Gosh, I wish I could remember the license plate you are referring to but I do not.  Thanks.

Hello Lloyd,
Thank you and where there is a need, someone provides the "way".  Right?

Jesse,
I'm still smiling about your tumble out of the hammock.  :0)

Yvette,
I think everyone feels better when the dog is clean and sand free.  LOL!

Hi Kathy,
I love the thought of putting a smile on your face, I think you smile pretty easily---that's a very good thing.

James,
Maybe the snowbirds will be "buying".  I hope so.

That is just way to cool.  The owners of that business was using their heads when they thought that one up.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for asking, yes we got along fine.  No damage and not much rain here, the wind whipped around pretty good.

Donna,
It seems to be fairly unique but some have some from others areas have seen or heard of them.  Thanks.

Judy,
I love Fall but agree with you when the days get shorter, I get a little down.  Oh well, we must appreciate and take advantage of every day.

Hello Judi with an i,
They really did hit a home run with this one.  Thank you for stopping by.

Cynthia-

A friend of ours just relocated to Florida,  This past week, he spent moving his boat from Connecticut to Florida.  He was a bit concerned as his timing through the Carolinas approximated that of Hurricane Hannah's.  Glad to hear you all made it thru the storm okay.

Hi Gita,
Always dry?  You don't go into the water?  It is so nice and refreshing.

Marilyn,
Your friend should have made it through ok, it was mostly rain and that was heavy only in certain areas.  Thanks for stopping by.

Jesse,
Well, thank you.  I never expected to be #1 in NC but with a little hard work, it happened.  :0)

Jim,
Yes, we do love our dogs and cats and horses and gold fish, etc., etc. LOL!
