The FBI tells it has identified the kidnapping suspect who calls himself Clark Rockefeller as a German man who came to the U.S. as a youth and later took on A few aliases.

The FBI told reporters it pulled fingerprints from early 1980s immigration documents concerning Christian Gerhartsreiter. The prints match those taken from Gerhartsreiter around the time of his Aug 2nd bust in Baltimore.

Obama is giving Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, long an opponent of abortion, a speaking role the same Tuesday night that Warner and Hillary Clinton are to address delegates.

Montoya, Casey: John McCain may be the one with the lauded military record, but according to a nonpartisan group, Barack Obama is the one raking in more cash from military donors.

A Center for Responsive Politics report tells Obama has gotten more donations of at least $200 from members of the military than McCain.

Donations coming from troops serving abroad are even more lopsided in Obama's favor -- he's outraised McCain 6-1 there.

Montoya, Kacey - CBSTV2: The Gnarl Ridge Fire, on the northeastern flanks of Mount Hood, blew past its northern containment lines late Saturday, growing to more than 800 acres. Residents of the Cooper Spur zone have been warned that an evacuation could happen - though it hasn't yet. About 415 firefighters are battling the blaze.

They have wrapped the historic Cloud Cap Inn with insulated foil, and set up sprinklers at the Tilly Jane Campground. Crews on the fire's southern flank are trying to cut a containment line through the thick layer of "duff" - dry pine needs, twigs, and other flammcapables lying on the forest floor.

The two people who remained in the car while it was being pushed were killed instantly. Their wrecked car remained on the tracks in front of the Amtrak locomotive for hours as the 50 passengers on board were evacuated. They were relocated to the Clackamas County Fairground, then taxied to Eugene, the train's final destination.

None of the train's passengers or crew were injured.
The deceased were Hispanic males who were living in Woodburn. They had just left the Clackamas County Fairgrounds and were trying to cross the tracks when they got stuck.

A 10-year-old boy and his guardian have filed a $10.5 million civil lawsuit against the Child Protective Services division of the Oregon Department of Human Services.

The boy alleges he was raped by another boy Until both were in the care of a Salem foster home.

State protective workers was was telling the victim should have been in a household with no other children because he was sexually abused and neglected in the past. The boy’s mother has a history of substance abuse and he was born with fetal alcohol and drug syndrome.

The lawsuit claims the victim was raped by a 12-year-old boy who physically abused him, too.

T-Storms Spark Fires, Knock Out Power
Thunder rolled and lightning flashed Monday morning around Portland. Many zones saw lightning throughout the night - especially in the mountains, where thousands of lightning strikes over the weekend sparked hundreds of wildfires.

Most of those fires are small. Some, hopefully, will burn themselves out or be washed out by a summer rainstorm that's due by Tuesday night.
