Best the Heat,Beat the HeatBest the Heat,Beat the Heat

Best the Heat,Beat the HeatBest the Heat,Beat the HeatOK so I must confess - I have a HORRIBLE sweet tooth that takes over especially in the summer heat here in Texas.  So as I read through the other entries I saw:  pools, rivers, lakes...  Yea yea yea...  OK so everyone likes the water, but where do we go in Texas after a LONG HOT DAY to really cool down?  To get ice cream, of course!  And there is no better place to get ice cream than a Marble Slab Creamery!  What's that you say?  You don't know of one near you?  Well just CHECK OUT THIS LIST to see locations all over our fine home state.

OK now I know I will have wars with Ben & Jerry's lovers, but those guys are radicals!  Who wants to eat radical ice cream? And with flavors like these, how can you complain?

Best the Heat,Beat the HeatBest the Heat,Beat the HeatGrab a scoop or two of one of these tempting tastes and put it in a dipped waffle cone and the cool breezes start to sweep over you with waves of tasty flavor in every bite!  Remember they mix your ice cream with the mixin's on a frozen marble slab and man does it taste GREAT!

So if you really want to escape the Texas heat, my recommendation is Marble Slab Creamery.  Hurry on over and get a lip on one of these great culinary creations!  They are only limited by your creativity and your appetite!

No one who sells ice cream could possibly be considered radical, even radicals like Ben & Jerry who, as Dale noted, did sell out a few years back, resulting in the Ben & Jerry's down the street being sold and converted into a Heidi's Yogurt store. Not the same.

I do miss Blue Bell, but they are slowly making their way out this ways. They are in Arizona now.

Marble Slab Creamery has a name that definitely would get me to stop by at least once. Out here my only choices now are Baskin-Robbins and Cold Stone Creamery.

The pictures look amazing...but truthfully...three bites of that rich stuff and I'm done. They need to make a size just for me...'Just enuff to taste' size. I always end up wasting most of mine. GBU!!

Steve, you are very naughty for posting this.  I just got back from vacation and should probably cut back on goodies like this for a while.  :-)  My favorite ice cream is Blue Bell.

Mmmm, mmmm, sounds good to me!!  Where are these places in FL???  :-)   Besides the popular big names, I only know one local shop that has stayed in business for any length of time - about 20 years, all others have gone out of business within a couple of years!

This has to be my second favorite way to "Beat the Heat".  Good thinking.  In fact, there are times in the winter I need to beat the heat this way! :)

Steve...

Now that's thinking outside the box :-)...love it and love ice cream too.  Mine is Blue Bell Mint Chocolate or Vanilla Bean, yummm.  Good luck in the contest, and yes you have it in the right place.

When I said to put in Localism I met the one that goes to your town, community, but you can put it anywhere as long as you put it in Texas Real Estate group and tag it, beat the heat, which you did.  L

Steve,

For those of us who are trying to shed some pounds this is completely unacceptable. But since you brought it up, I'l be taking the White Choc.

Steve - You lost 70 pounds last year?  That is awesome!  Congrats!  I need to lose about 20-30 myself.  This was a well-designed post with a great idea behind it.  Good luck in the contest!
