Are you sitting on the fence waiting for the real estate market to get better before you buy a house? Now is the time to buy before the real estate market does get better. Now is when the prices are low, interest rates are still low and if you need it, 100% financing is still available!

The average homebuyer will be in their homes for five years. Real estate is still a great investment and like all investments you should buy low and sell high. With interest rates still low what better time to buy! I can remember when mortgage rates got up around 16%. Yes, they were 16%! There is no way of knowing what the future interest rates will be but if they got up this high once, could it happen again?

First timers there is still 100% financing and your real estate professional will assist you in finding the mortgage that is right for you. In my area, and I'm sure in a lot of other areas, the seller is willing to pay your closing cost! Talk about a deal! There is also a $7,500 tax credit for first time home buyers. This tax credit does have to be paid back over 15 years but the help is there and with your mortgage being tax deductible you are still looking at a great deal. Your real estate professional can help you obtain all the information on the tax credit.

Are you renting? Why pay your landlord's mortgage and build his wealth when you could be building your own for the same payment!  Not only that, you have your own home! That means doing things to it and making it special for you. If you need to sell several years down the road there is a high probability that you will be putting money in your pocket, not your landlords.

If you wait for the "bottom" of the market before you buy you will probably "miss the boat" totally. Usually when the general public figures out those prices are again on the rise, they have already been on the rise for several months. Then you will be in significant competition with other buyers which will raise the prices even further and more rapidly.

Now is the time to really consider stepping away from the crowd and doing what is best for your future.

Hi Dale - I agree and 10-20 years from now I think a lot of people will wish that they had bought a home when the prices and interest rates are low.
