I'd say next Saturday is a good day to take Riverside Boulevard as your north / south street through Land Park or maybe cut through Curtis Park and come down Broadway to get to your home in Land Park.
There will be tons of activity going on near Freeport and William Land Park, Saturday, September 13th. Land Park residents may wish to plan alternate routes and avoid this area all together. Sacramento City College has a busy day planned. In addition to its normal Saturday classes, here are other activities:
HBCU College Fair: 9 to 2 PM. Shuttle buses. 40 onsite colleges participating in fair for historically black colleges and universities.
Nationally televised football game between Shaw and Southern Texas Universities at Hughes Stadium starts at 4 PM. Traffic lets out at 7:30 at 23rd & 24th and also at exit options at 7th and 12th Avenues.
Multicultural Festival begins at Hughes Stadium at 2 PM before the football game.
The Sacramento Police Department and Los Rios Police Department will be on hand to monitor traffic.
I have an appointment next Saturday to show homes in Land Park. There is a new listing on the market near the T intersection on 19th for $1,445,000. That's really close to all this activity, and it's hard enough to find parking near William Land Park anyway. Perhaps a solution for buyer's agents is to make arrangements in advance to park in driveways or leave enough time in the schedule to allow for traffic delays. I don't mind sitting in traffic so much, but I know buyers do. Perhaps I will ask them if they'd rather tour Land Park on another day. I'd hate for them to think that these traffic jams are the norm around here.

Good to know...there is an open house planned for Sunday for my South Land Park Terrace listing. May limit traffic there...
